The Account Development Specialist at MilliporeSigma, will work in a high-energy, dynamic, and rewarding team environment. You will be collaborating, supporting, and executing of new account onboarding, development, and financial tracking for the Biotech sales regions in North America. The Account Development Specialist serves as a front-line customer liaison for new biotech accounts and works in coordination with the Field Biotech Account Managers, Regional Manager(s), Specialists within Life Science, and internal support teams (customer care, product screening, master data, finance/collections, reporting) to enhance the customer experience and achieve commercial and strategic goals, track progress, and measure success.
  • Assist with specialized biotech administrative support
  • Assist with new biotech customer onboarding
  • Provide Biotech Account and Incubator Tracking
  • Sponsorship/Partnership financial analysis
  • Support Emerging Biotech Credit project
  • Complete all necessary administrative requirements, which include but are not limited to maintaining necessary databases, responding to and sending necessary communications by email, phone, or Microsoft Teams, attending all required meetings and teleconferences, and others as assigned by the Regional Manager
  • This position will be either remote or field based


Who you are:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in Science, Sales, Marketing, or similar discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in the biotech/pharma industry in sales, marketing, customer service, or finance.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient with sales/marketing tools (sales reporting, Salesforce.com, or similar).
  • Experience with SAP or similar.
  • Ability to self-manage, multi-task effectively, organize and prioritize daily activities, and meet deadlines.
  • Highly organized with time management and project management skills.
  • Documented history of working effectively as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, and especially Excel.
  • General understanding of the emerging biotech research marketplace and business trends.
  • Basic business acumen with the ability to organize and analyze data effectively. Some knowledge of business financial systems and terms.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills: Excel skills, sales analysis and account/incubator tracking.
  • Familiarity with the Life Science and biotech/pharma industry.
  • Familiarity with new biotech start-up customer needs and biotech consortia relationships/ecosystem.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse teams to meet business and customer needs.
  • Positive, friendly, and eager to learn.
  • Respectful, honest, humble, and willing to embrace challenges.
