General Sales Manager - Position Overview
Reports to:Divisional Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage field operations, including driving sales, closing deals, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Lead and train Community Sales Managers, Sales Counselors, and Associates to enhance their sales performance.
- Collaborate with the divisional management team to achieve business objectives.
- Set and monitor sales goals for the team to ensure targets are met.
- Recruit, develop, and evaluate divisional sales team members.
- Facilitate weekly sales meetings to optimize the sales process.
- Serve as a liaison to homebuyers to address and resolve their concerns.
- Manage relationships with Sales and Marketing vendors effectively.
- Address issues related to mortgage and administrative functions.
- Design and implement merchandising strategies, advertising campaigns, and community marketing plans.
- Conduct competitive research to guide product development and land acquisition decisions.
- Oversee and manage the Sales and Marketing divisional budget.
- Partner with peer managers to resolve challenges and enhance business performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience in a production home building environment or high-volume direct sales organization.
- At least two years of experience in Sales and/or Marketing management.
- At least two years of Sales and/or Marketing experience.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Business or a related field.
- Experience in the Home Building industry.
- State licensing as required.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficiency in word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, presentation software (PowerPoint), and database software (Adobe).
- Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and develop solutions.
- Strong communication skills in business English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing environments.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of sales processes, procedures, and Sales PRO concepts.
- Excellent organizational skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Fluency in English required; Spanish language skills are advantageous.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, hear, and see well enough to perform office tasks.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to operate standard office equipment.
- Must be able to drive for work-related travel; occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to adapt to frequent changes in schedule and priorities.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily field-based with daily travel to various locations.
- Some tasks will be performed in a standard office environment.
- Fast-paced work environment with frequent adjustments to schedule and priorities.
- Safety considerations include driving.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
