Job Description

The Sr. Manager, S&OP is responsible for leading the S&OP process, providing leadership in sourcing, demand and supply planning, warehouse/inventory guidelines, staff and crewing strategy and supporting financial forecasting.

Leads cross-functional business teams in the integration of demand planning and operational information. The scope includes all aspects of demand and production planning integration, and working with all facilities so “top to bottom” information matches. Will prepare and publish S&OP plans to deliver on monthly, annual and long term operational and financial goals. Will have exposure to all functional activities on the business including New Products Introduction (ACE), Sales, Operations, and Finance, which results in a holistic approach to driving business growth.

This position will be exposed to Operating Board, Sr. Directors of Operations, Commercialization Director, Sales VP and Directors, Plant Managers; FP&A, Supply Chain Finance and multifunctional stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

  • S&OP process:
    • Attending all Sales Consensus Calls engaging with Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain leaders to evaluate retail and CoPack sales forecast.
    • Facilitates all S&OP sessions: Ops Consensus, IPM (Pre S&OP) and Executive S&OP.
    • Responsible for creation and distribution of S&OP plan and preparation of meetings.
    • Consolidation of all plant production information (by SKU) into product groups, categorized by the S&OP.
    • Coordination and integration of all new products, into the S&OP.
    • Engage with Supply Planning Managers to confirm feasibility of S&OP plan or to identify gaps and validate plan.
    • Build/evaluate planning scenarios combining sourcing and financial parameters (production costs, materials and freight). Incorporate scenarios to Executive S&OP deck.
    • Leads S&OP cycle (Ops Consensus, IPM and S&OP meeting), including supply and inventory reviews, and the end-of process reviews with organizational executives on sales plans, issues, and mitigating actions.
    • Leads Executive S&OP meeting with Operating Board, Ops leadership, Supply Chain Finance, FP&A and Human Resources.
  • Sales and Operation Execution (S&OE) process:
    • Lead Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE) process, preparing decks, automated reports and running weekly session.
    • Track and report CoPack pace and actuals versus committed/planned volumes. Lead planning sessions with CoPack customers.
    • Support “New product introduction” (ACE) process. Provide capacity view for Supply Chain validation, integrating ACE and S&OP, validating first production date and sourcing.
    • Facilitate discussions between Finance, Operations, Sales, and Marketing to develop mitigation plans for anticipated supply gaps identified in S&OE gap analysis process.
    • Develop new and/or improved tools to ensure timely measurement, reporting, and visibility to Product Supply status to all cross functional stakeholders generation of Supply Chain reports.
    • Communicate potential issues to the business and mix opportunities.
    • Follow monthly, weekly and daily procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (Business Logistics, Operational Planning preferred).
  • CSCP or APICS certification a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years Supply Chain & Operations work experience, preferably in beverage manufacturing industry.
  • Software skills: SAP ECC, MS office with proficiency in Excel and Power Point, Data analytics (MS Power BI, MS Access, Tableau) a plus.
  • Strong understanding of the purpose of an S&OP process and how it is executed.
  • Deep understanding of supply chain dynamics in order to expose tradeoffs and options with Sales, Marketing and internal/external supply chain partners to maximize revenue potential.
  • Capabilities sufficient to evaluate large amounts of historical data to identify trends, seasonality, and variation that can be used to develop forecasts.
  • Experience in supply chain management of consumer products or grocery retail or a related product which is frequently promoted and has high velocity with low inventory levels.
  • Experience in building effective collaborative relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Understanding of various systems including order management, forecasting, ad-hoc database management.
  • Relationship skills sufficient to develop a network of collaborative colleagues within other organizational areas and at the manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to influence organizational executives/peers to commit adequate resources to support the S&OP process and partner with key functional resources to maintain a high level of resource engagement, ensuring effective process execution.
  • Communication skills sufficient to coach and help others to connect to the importance of forecast assumptions and how they enable or limit supply chain responsiveness.
  • Communication and analytical capabilities sufficient to distill large amounts of data and complex factors into language that stakeholders can understand and use to make decisions.
