Job Description

The Quality Manager should be an experienced Construction or Engineering Professional who is able to ensure that our projects meet all necessary requirements before they are turned over to the client.

The Quality Manager will be in responsible charge of the Quality Team (Quality Specialists, Inspectors and third-party consultants) that will perform audits and random spot inspections of the work in progress and/or the final/finished product to make sure it has been built with compliance to all applicable codes, standards, plans and specifications and meets customer requirements and expectations. The Quality Manager should be thorough and observant with an eye for detail.

The Quality Manager must fully understand the requirements for the product (project) and have a sense of responsibility towards our potential and existing customers as well as a regard for the competition.

One of the Goals of the Quality Manager is to promote and preserve our reputation by ensuring that our products and services are delivered to the highest of industry standards, thus avoiding rework and preserving our margin.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control and quality assurance processes and procedures
  • Devise and review specifications for products or processes
  • Set requirements for suppliers, subcontractors and direct-hire work crews and monitor their compliance to our plans, specifications and standards
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations
  • Train and supervise specialists, inspectors, technicians, consultants and other staff as required and provide guidance and feedback
  • Oversee project processes and procedures to identify deviations from quality standards
  • Inspect final output and compare properties to requirements
  • Approve the right products or reject defectives
  • Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis
  • Perform root cause analysis and develop a proactive approach to eliminating negative trends
  • Solicit feedback from customers to assess whether their requirements are met
  • Submit detailed reports to appropriate executives
  • Be on the lookout for opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient procedures
  • Work with different departments to gather the necessary information to implement solutions and process changes

Requirements

    • 5-10+ years of relevant experience in quality control/assurance management
    • Proven field experience and thorough understanding of construction quality programs

    • Outstanding communication skills
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
    • Strong ability to motivate others
    • A positive attitude with a willingness to help drive problems to a resolution
    • Proficient in MS Office and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods
    • In depth understanding of quality control procedures, codes and relevant legal standards
    • Solar or manufacturing knowledge a plus
    • Experience managing multiple employees in remote locations
