Help us put the AC in Waco by joining the Opening Team at the AC Hotel by Marriott Waco Downtown.

Just steps away from the Silos and minutes from Baylor University, the AC Hotel Waco Downtown features 182 guestrooms, approximately 15,000 sq. ft. of Meeting & Event space. We are searching for a dynamic hospitality professional to join our Sales & Marketing team as we open this brand new property in January 2024.

Catering Sales Manager Job Summary

The Sales Manager is responsible for representing the AC Hotel Waco Downtown to customers and the public. Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned market. Listen to customer needs, analyze this information, and create tailored proposals. Negotiate and close sales while meeting/exceeding sales targets. Impress customers with tailored proposals, quality, and timely service in a pleasant and friendly manner. May work with local sales and U.S. based account sales teams to drive production from targeted high priority accounts including maximizing special corporate business within the represented marketplace.

***The Sales Manager position is bonus eligible. The anticipated start date for this position is October 25, 2024.

Education, Experience & Core Qualifications

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Hotel catering sales experience in either luxury, upscale, or lifestyle brands
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively present information to individuals or groups
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • Current Marriott experience preferred
  • CI/TY/SFAWeb experience preferred
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Ability to conduct site visits with potential customers
  • Ability to drive/transport self and others
  • Ability to travel domestically
  • Make sound judgements quickly
  • Work on multiple tasks, making appropriate progress towards deadlines
  • Able to work independently, take direction and provide direction to others
  • Manage differing personalities with the office, the hotel and the community
  • Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to work effectively in stressful, high pressure situations
  • Ability to effectively handle challenges in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
