Woodard and Curran, Inc. seeks Sr. Client Managers to work in Walnut Creek, California. The Sr. Client Manager is an engineering role responsible for delivering innovative engineering projects for clients and maintaining client relationships with clients, with technical proficiency at the forefront. This position is highly visible both within and outside the firm and involves working with large and complex municipalities to address unmet water engineering needs through our deliberate approach to problem solving and commitment to generating fresh ideas. The Sr. Client Manager responsibilities also include: working on a team focused on growing our municipal practice, with project development goals ranging in project size from $3M to $10M; researching, designing, coordinating, and planning water engineering duties for municipal and institutional clients; developing and leading internal client-teams to grow client accounts to develop projects with clients across the full suite of engineering services that Woodard & Curran offers; advising clients and project staff on environmental policies and standards, capital improvement plans, and engineering master plans; preparing the qualifications and technical aspects of written proposals, presentations and budget quotes for complex water engineering and planning services for municipalities; negotiating terms of service delivery; developing proposed project objectives for municipal water projects for integrated planning between water, stormwater and sewer divisions; coordinating with internal teams to develop technical engineering project offerings and industry thought leadership pieces related to specific engineering practices; supporting administrative elements of accounts; attending technical and leading industry conferences and workshops to strengthen existing relationships, establish new client relationships, identify emerging technologies and market drivers, and collaborate with leading experts in the industry; and coaching and developing junior members of the client teams. This position involves domestic travel up to 25% in the California Bay Area and Southern California regions to other Woodard & Curran offices and client sites. The minimum education, experience and skills required for this position are a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; 5 years of related Environmental or Civil Engineering experience, that includes at least 2 years working an engineering position responsible for client account management and sales; and knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology in the design, development and implementation of environmental control systems/technologies by municipalities, utilities, and institutions in urban and suburban settings. Requirements (What we look for in candidates): Must-haves: - 4-8 years of work experience in any customer-facing sales role. - Clear, concise, and effective written and oral communication skills. - Empathy towards customers and understanding their needs. - Interest, curiosity, and openness to learning new technologies. - Prior exposure to tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, DiscoverOrg, ZoomInfo, etc. - Good interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders as well as end customers. - Learning mindset and the right attitude that will help you thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. - Ability to handle rejections and stay focused and driven. - Ability to multi-task and manage your tasks effectively. - Flexibility in working in different shifts/regions. This is absolutely mandatory because you will be expected to work in a specific shift for a minimum of two years. Good to have: - Prior work experience in SaaS product companies in domains relevant to Freshworks' suite of products. - A proven track record of consistency in overachieving targets.
