We are looking for a Director of Sales who is a self-starter, energetic, and HIGHLY motivated with the ability to thrive in an ever-changing environment and collaborate with a company of talented, motivated individuals.
The Director of Sales is a team player and key leader with a long-term, career-minded approach to daily responsibilities. Food manufacturing experience a must. This is an ONSITE position.
The Director of Sales, under the direction of the President, leads the activities of the Sales & Customer Service Department and is responsible for directing revenue growth, obtaining company’s sales strategy and maintaining customer retention. The Director of Sales plans, establishes and implements processes, tools, and structures to support the sales operations and service to the customer. In addition, oversee goal setting, coach and monitor the sales and support team to enhance performance. This role also analyzes sales statistics to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and monitor the preferences of customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to,
- Support Sales Managers to find and develop new leads/accounts to help ensure the company actualizes its maximum sales potential.
- Implement methods and systems to effectively analyze and monitor the industry, business environment, and competitors and expand the customer base.
- Build effective sales and support teams with mentoring and development.
- Personally participate in or negotiate strategic or high-value sales.
- Constant networking, strategic planning and collaborating across the organization.
- Communicate effectively to answer questions about products, prices and availability while maintaining a commitment to superior and distinctive service.
- Manage products and establish positive relationships with sales, support staff, and customers.
- Craft sales plans and budgets. Establish sales goals and prepare monthly sales reports and forecast.
- Review and analyze sales and operational records and reports; use data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets. Monitor market conditions, product innovations or trends. Collaborate with executive leadership to develop sales quotas and strategies.
- Support sales team with customers' after-sales or contract signings to resolve any issues and provide ongoing support.
- Meet metrics/KPIs.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales/Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of sales experience in food manufacturing industry. 5+ years of managerial/leadership experience.
- Thorough knowledge of territory, market and clients.
- Excellent management and leadership skills.
- Ability to develop sales strategies and execute plans.
- Strong customer relationship knowledge, business and financial acumen.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced in MS Office Suite.
- Demonstrates persuasiveness, tenacity, and strong selling skills.
- Exceptional level of motivation, desire, competitiveness, and sales driven focus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Infrequent periods of standing.
- Infrequent lifting up-to 15 pounds.
- Occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities.
Travel
This position may be required to travel locally or out of state for work at trade shows or customer visits throughout the year. Up to 3 days of overnight stays at a time. Travel 20-30%.
Schedule: Monday - Friday. Full-time.
