Job Overview
Our client is a Dallas-based, 40-year-old business in the optical manufacturing space. They are seeking a highly-skilled The Director of Sales to join their team on a full-time, direct-hire basis. This role will be responsible for the management, and growth of the division to include some of the most important Key Accounts, Industrial Safety Accounts and Eye Care Practitioner Accounts in the company. These accounts make up the highest percentage of the revenue, and the Director of Sales must build and maintain a strong relationship with these clients. They will be the lead point of contact for all key client matters, anticipate the client’s needs, work within the company to ensure deadlines for client are met, and help the client succeed. They will also bring in new business from existing clients or contacts and will develop new relationships with potential clients. The increase in sales is a very important expectation in this role.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Sales teams' operations and strategies. By researching market trends and conducting competitor analysis, you will develop and implement sales strategies.

Required Skills/Abilities
- Must have experience in the optical industry
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Goal-oriented, organized collaborator
- Must be a strong leader with the ability to encourage mentor and guide a diverse group of employees.
- Self-motivated and self-directed with excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- In-depth understanding of the company’s key clients and their position in the optical industry.
- Eager to grow the company with recent sales, clients, and territories.
- Able to analyze data and sales statistics and translate results into better solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person.
- Basic computer skills, and experience with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on superior Excel skills.
- Must possess a strong understanding of retail math.
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to follow through on client contracts.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts effectively.
- Proven results in delivering client solutions and meeting sales goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five years of previous work experience in optical sales, team-leading experience, key account management, or relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- Proven history of optimizing revenue within the optical channel.
- Open to traveling up to 50% of the time to shows, marketing events, key account meetings, etc.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 - $178,937.00 per year
