Job Description

Hill+Knowlton Strategies is looking for a highly motivated, client-focused Account Manager (Account Supervisor equivalent) to lead tech accounts within our growing U.S. Technology Practice. The successful candidate will be someone who feels a strong sense of responsibility for the client/agency relationship; we are looking for a leader who inspires others and finds professional satisfaction in delivering high-quality work every day. A passion for media relations isn’t just a plus, it’s a must-have: The successful candidate will have a knack for storytelling and pitch development and enjoy fostering relationships with clients and reporters alike. We’re looking for candidates who bring enthusiasm and curiosity to the job, understands our role as counselors, and seeks to learn everything they can about the industries within which their clients live. If you enjoy the craft of media relations, the art of storytelling, and the science of client counsel, this may be the role for you!

This is a unique opportunity to work in a leadership role, grow as a communications practitioner, exercise strategic thinking, creativity, and passion on behalf of a global tech brands. Cybersecurity and enterprise software experience a plus.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Serving as a client lead, helping to execute all phases of communications programs (including research, planning, media relations)
  • Developing proactive storylines, packaging news announcements and driving earned media opportunities and results across the business and technology media landscape
  • Utilizing strategic thinking to translate data results into impactful communications strategy that yields measurable results
  • Contributing to client goals and objectives by preparing written reports, presentations, message development, pitch angles, data analysis and measurement
  • Contributing creativity, passion and expertise to an entrepreneurial team environment where everyone’s voice is heard, highly valued and rewarded
  • Serve as a manager and mentor to talented, motivated team members

What you’ll need to get here:

  • 4-6years of experience working in strategic communications with a specialized focus on media relations and client counsel
  • Experience serving as a day-to-day client director
  • Superb writing, editing and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Advanced skill in the Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint; ability to produce reports in PowerPoint that visualize data and communicate data results
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects, meet deadlines and work with quality and efficiency
  • Adaptable self-starter, able to work independently and collaborate within a complex, multi-agency environment including remote team members
  • Professionalism, poise and confidence participating in a variety of situations including client presentations and events
  • Passion, integrity and excitement for working with industry-leading teams and clients within a globally influential firm
  • Interest in the technology business and curiosity about finding and telling interesting client stories
