At FBMC, our caring Retirement Specialists provide clients and members with support of retiree benefit management, enrollment and education for retirement specific benefits including over and under age 65 benefits and Medicare and Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans. They serve as subject matter experts for internal and external members, vendors and staff. with have a people-first attitude while supporting our clients and serving members.

  • Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    Receives and responds to incoming calls, emails and written communication from participants, client,
    providers, or other business associates and provides accurate and timely communication of information
    to resolve inquiry or concerns.
  • Educates and counsels eligible retirees on benefits.
  • Research and documents problems and requests for information upon request from the Account
    Executive and Account Manager and provides a detailed analysis in writing or verbally.
  • In collaboration with the Market Resources Department, assist in obtaining and evaluating carrier and
    vendor quotes and the RFP process to ensure materials are prepared in accordance to client needs.
  • Reviews Communicate and Process monthly reports and client related deliverables.
  • Ensures timely, professional servicing of client accounts and deliverables documenting interactions in
    designated CRM and supports project management and client cadence management in CRM and
    project management tools with accurate and timely updates.
  • Investigates and resolves escalated inquiries from customer, client, enrollment company partner or
    insurance carrier about products, coverage, accounts, billing processes and/or payments.
  • Writes technical correspondence and develops detailed reports and surveys for internal and external
    distribution or mailing.

Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a
clear and concise manner
Experience in working in a fast-paced environment and handling pressure situations with
professionalism and tact
Demonstrated problem solving skills, including attention to detail, analytical thinking, and decisiveness
Strong numerical and data entry skills
Excellent organization skills able ability to prioritize work, manage multiple projects, follow-through,
and meet deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills to work independently and collaboratively with team members and others
of varying backgrounds and skill levels
Must exhibit a positive attitude and be an example of leadership to others in problem-solving,
teamwork, interpersonal relationships, and commitment to FBMC's mission, vision, and values

Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • Highschool Diploma/GED
  • 3-5 years of experience in the fields of customer service, employee benefit insurance, claim coding, data
    or technology systems or medical office including experience with Medicare and Medicare Part D
    Prescription Drug Plans required.
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid State Life/Health license is required within 6 months of hire,
    limited to activity allowed under State Insurance laws until license obtained
  • Possession of AHIP certification can be substituted for experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, web based and Customer Relationship Management
    (CRM) applications and ability to learn new technology platforms quickly
