What Winning Looks Like for This Role:
The User Experience Designer for Artisan Technology Group is responsible for understanding the vision and goals of Artisan’s clients to communicate design specifications to clients, engineering teams, and any/all other stakeholders. The User Experience Designer facilitates design sessions to help define vision, user stories, functional requirements, wireframes, hi-fidelity mockups, and visual prototypes.
  • Facilitating design sessions for new custom applications
  • Presenting and communicating design decisions to clients and development teams
  • Defining the design strategy, and solving complex design challenges
  • Determining illustration style, color palettes, typography, screen layout, and user interface
  • Implementing user-centered design best practices
  • Leading analysis of solution needs and defining scope requirements to ensure it meets market needs, including best practice workflows, scope of capabilities and visual design
  • Managing large scale and complex design projects across multiple development teams
  • Developing plans and materials to ensure solution goals and strategies are user-centered and align with current solution capabilities and client roadmaps
  • Driving solution vision through client interaction, market and user research, end user shadowing/interviews, and feedback channels
You Should Have:
  • User-centered design experience, specifically in user interface (UI) design and research
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple development projects simultaneously and prioritize work to meet adapting deadlines
  • Familiarity with use case modeling and user centered design, knowledge of writing functional, supplemental, and integration specifications, ability to write behavioral driven design
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an eye for detail
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Experience implementing and working in a paired review process
  • Proven ability to run meetings related to solution design
  • Document business and/or functional requirements and facilitate review meetings
  • Proven ability to field questions from engineers and clients
  • Familiarity with use case modeling and user centered design, knowledge of writing functional, supplemental, and integration specifications, ability to write behavioral driven design
  • Experience coding in HTML/CSS, JavaScript
  • User Research and Usability Testing
  • Responsive and progressive web app & mobile app design experience
  • Experience with design tools either purchased or free e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) or Creative Suite (CS) apps like InDesign, Dreamweaver and Photoshop, Sketch, UX Pin
  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Industrial Design, Graphic/Visual Design or a Design-related field, or equivalent work experience
