Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Agency Account Manager role is integral to both our clients and our team. Our Account Manager must be able to understand our clients, their industries and be able to anticipate their needs, typically far before they know! This role can be located in either our Prince George or Kelowna office and involves working with our clients across Western Canada and parts of the USA.
Your skillset and background should reflect experience like senior sales, customer service and project management. This position's hours are Monday to Friday but may involve some hours outside of that time as well as travel throughout Western Canada on occasion.
Day to day, our Account Manager may have their brain in many different things like work on existing projects to onboarding new clients as well as assisting other pods within Splash to keep projects on track. The Account Manager role is also highly involved with developing marketing strategies and ensuring our clients know all of the solutions Splash is able to provide them with. Although this is not a sales position per se, having a sales background would be helpful experience to achieve success with this type of account management.
A marketing degree or communications degree is not required but would be an asset. Since Splash works with all sizes of clients and different types of projects, the more experience or education you bring is helpful to our clients and team.
Experience in forestry, oil & gas or mining would also be an asset; Since many of our clients are in this industry or serve these industries, knowing and understanding history, trends and language would be hugely beneficial.
Duties
- Act as our client’s main point of contact, manage existing and new customer relationships
- Act on new leads, work to fill in gaps in project schedule.
- Define and manage the scope of a project.
- Regularly meet with clients to understand their requirements and objectives. For active projects, keep clients updated about the project’s progress and work to keep on schedule.
- Regularly send progress updates to clients, collect feedback, and then relay feedback to relevant team members
- Update project status in Splash CRM and other programs.
- Represent Splash to clients and the community with professionalism, intelligence and warmth.
- Schedule and lead project meetings with team members, starting with a project kickoff meeting and regular check-in meetings
- Schedule and lead project kickoff meetings with clients.
- Be ahead of reoccurring projects, events and timely dates for our clients.
- Plan a quarterly project calendar/schedule with the Creative Director and Marketing Director.
- Coordinate tasks and responsibilities with other team members.
- Problem-solve throughout the different phases of the project.
- Present final deliverables and project report to the client.
- Consistently be interested and aware of industry news and developments.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Proven business development experience in a B2B environment (at least 2 years)
- A passion for personal and professional growth.
- Have knowledge, sensitivity and experience working with First Nations.
- Project management experience.
- Have experience with strategic problem solving.
- General knowledge (preferably experience in) of marketing strategies
- Budgeting and financial projecting.
- Data analysis experience.
- Reporting experience.
- Strong communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Impeccable organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Self-motivated; able to function effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to travel; although there is not a lot of travel, it may be required for this role.
