Salary: $60,000-$65,000 per annum + uncapped commission (OTE $130k per annum)

We’re looking for a motivated and driven Sales Director, Trade Shows and Exhibitions to join our #FutureScape team!
Eljays44 is an established media, publishing, and events business. Founded in the UK in 2011, Eljays44 and its brands have become the go-to channel for all things related to the horticulture and landscaping sector. We are now bringing our flagship brands, FutureScape and Pro Landscaper— the UK’s leading B2B event and publication for the landscaping industry— to Los Angeles. This is an exciting opportunity for a Sales Director to launch and develop this exhibition in the US market.
The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Director to join our Landscaping Division. This individual will build strong and professional business relationships with customers and prospects to drive revenue through the sale of exhibition stands, sponsorship, and speaking packages.
The primary focus of this role is to sell these packages, ensuring you achieve your personal targets and support the management team in delivering successful events. This role will focus mainly, though not exclusively, on new business through telesales, emails, video calls, and attending industry events and conferences as required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prospecting
- Identify and pre-qualify potential new customers, closing new business to meet growth targets outlined in the sales plan.
- Understand our customers’ businesses to deliver relevant packages that meet their needs.
- Forecast monthly, quarterly, and annually against sales targets.
- Develop strong product knowledge across all Eljays44 events, including demographics, content focuses, and customer profiles.
- Meet activity targets, including CRM and telephone activity goals.
- Demonstrate excellent forecasting skills as needed.
- Negotiate and maximise the potential of all sales transactions.
- Utilise the full mix of sales channels—telephone, email, video, and face-to-face as required.
- Maintain a strong awareness of the competitive event and media landscape.
- Administration
- Maintain CRM records to a high standard, ensuring all contract paperwork and show floor plans are accurate and up to date.
- Liaise with marketing and operations to ensure packages are delivered as promised.
- Assist with credit control as required.
- Represent our company as an ambassador, maintaining high personal standards and customer service levels.
- Build strong market knowledge by monitoring websites, reading publications, speaking with customers, attending events, and more.
What’s Required to Succeed as a Sales Director, Trade Shows and Exhibitions:
- Proven success in delivering revenue targets.
- Knowledge of the trade show/media/advertising industry preferred but not essential.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong customer focus.
- Self-starter, motivated, and able to work independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Creative, with fresh perspectives and out-of-the-box thinking.
- Basic computer skills in Excel and experience working in CRM systems.
- Ideal for a senior sales executive ready to transition to a sales manager role.
