International luxury product company is seeking a West Coast Regional Manager to drive sales in California. This fantastic position is responsible for driving sales growth in the West Coast region both in “custom projects for the Interior Design trade” business as well as its new standard and inventory products business through retail, on-line and “to the trade” channels. Experience in the world of branded, premium furnishings is preferred, while a strong work ethic, the capacity to learn quickly, an analytical and numerate mindset, and excellent communication skills are essential.

The right candidate will be comfortable in a small but complex and fast-moving environment, be comfortable with strategic development and deployment, managing change, entering new markets, and building relationships and market share across the Interior Design, High-end Corporate, Luxury Hospitality, and UHNI communities. This position can be based in Los Angeles or San Francisco.

· Be willing to undertake a considerable amount of business travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Achieve and exceed region’s monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and margin goals.
  • Develop sales plans and strategies to increase market penetration within region.
  • Participate in annual sales strategy development and planning.
  • Lead and drive the company’s entry and growth into the retail environment
  • Develop annual sales goals for sales representatives and distributors.
  • Manage and control regional expenses at or below budgeted levels.
  • Develop and implement action plans for each member of the regional team through frequent meetings with customers and traveling with sales representatives.
  • Participate in client meetings with sales representatives initially to observe and learn, then providing individual coaching where needed and migrating best practices.
  • Plan and coordinate twice yearly regional sales meetings and attend national sales or management meetings as requested.
  • Perform annual evaluations and conduct formal documented feedback sessions with members of the regional team on an annual basis.
  • Recruit, develop and train sales representatives and specialists as needed ensuring understanding of required sales and other performance standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly manages all members of the regional team.
  • Ensure managerial responsibilities are performed in accordance with Company policies, the Code of Conduct, and applicable laws.
  • Live and drive behaviours that are consistent with the companies documented values.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) preferred – preferably in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related subject.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales, marketing, or other commercial business experience - preferably in the world of branded, premium furnishings sold to trade clients (interior designers and corporations) as well as directly to end-users.
  • Demonstrated competency in driving D2C sales/marketing, and the management/development of 3rd party distributors.

Travel

  • Employee must be available to travel up to 50% of the time.
