UX Designer

SimpleNexus is one of the Inc. 500 Fastest Growing Companies in the United States. Headquartered in the heart of Silicon Slopes in Lehi, Utah, SimpleNexus is an Enterprise Digital Mortgage Platform; we are the leaders in providing mobile apps for mortgage companies and banks across the nation.

SimpleNexus has been around since 2011 and already we’re serving over 25,000 loan officers. Our culture is built on growth and career development and not only do we have a lot of fun, we always ensure that everyone maintains a healthy life-work balance. We’re growing fast, and we’re excited to add more talent to our team.

We unite loan officers, borrowers, and Realtor partners into a single platform to deliver a complete digital mortgage strategy with proven results.

UX DESIGNER:

SimpleNexus is seeking a UX Designer to define and create the interactions and interfaces for our mobile and web applications. You will help champion the importance of Design within the company and contribute to our ever evolving design system. This role will own both UX and UI for a given person-based team. Both Senior and more entry-level candidates will be considered, and salary will be based on experience and qualifications.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERISTICS:

PERSONA-DRIVEN — Do you understand the key users – what makes them tick, and what their true needs are? Are you deeply familiar with industry-centric tools, environments, watering holes, and other influencing factors? Can you return from a trip of contextual inquiry visits with complete empathy of users’ pains? Are customer journey maps and user story mapping workflows critical parts of your skill set? Is your top joy in life seeing people thrilled with what you have built?

CRAZY FAST PROTOTYPER — Do you instinctively translate user needs, qualitative data, and other insights into innovative solutions? Do you amaze your peers at the quality and speed at which you crank out white-board sketches, wireframes, mocks, and prototypes? Can you let personas validate (or criticize) your ideas and not fall in love with your own work? Is iterative design and refinement second-nature? Do you embrace A/B and multivariate testing opportunities?

TOP-NOTCH DESIGN SKILLS — Do you solidify top-notch interaction workflows before applying seduction-level visual design? Do you geek out studying Information Architecture strategies? Do you strive and fight for perfection (down to the pixel level)? Are you constantly seeking for ways to delight users? Is attractiveness and beauty always associated with your work?

TEAM COLLABORATOR — Do you prefer to sit together with your persona-based team? Are you part of the “trifecta” (UX, PM, and Dev Lead) from ideation to verification of desired outcomes? Are Design Sprints a commonly-used way to align your team? Do you continuously contribute to the strategic vision of the product? Can you create stellar vision documents to impress and motivate the entire company? Do you check your ego at the door and stay hungry to learn from everybody around you?

REQUIREMENTS
  • 2-5 years of UX Design experience for both mobile and web platforms, preferably in the Enterprise SaaS B2B space
  • 2+ years experience with Adobe CS/XD, Sketch, InVision, HTML/CSS, and/or other similar technologies
  • 2+ years participating in Agile development environments (such as Scrum or Kanban)
  • A strong online portfolio (please provide a link to your portfolio — applications without accompanying portfolios will not be reviewed)
  • Bachelor degree in a related field
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to details and highly organized
  • Ability to travel domestically (about 6 times a year)

BENEFITS

At SimpleNexus, we offer competitive salaries with ample career opportunities. We want our employees to see us as more than just a pit stop on their career roadmap. We believe that as we grow as a company, our employees can grow with us.

For our Full-Time employees, SimpleNexus covers 90% of healthcare premiums and has annual HSA contributions. We offer unlimited PTO and encourage a culture of work-life balance.
