Job Summary:
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the sales activities of drill bits in the West Texas region. The role focuses on maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, expanding market share by identifying new business opportunities, and delivering exceptional customer service to oilfield operators, drilling contractors, and service companies. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the oil & gas drilling industry, a proven sales record, and strong leadership abilities to drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to meet revenue goals and expand market share in the Midland-Odessa, and West Texas region.
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with oilfield operators, drilling contractors, and service companies.
- Product Knowledge: Provide technical expertise on drill bits, understanding clients' drilling needs and offering tailored solutions.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including prospecting new clients and expanding existing accounts.
- Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Customer Support: Work closely with technical teams to ensure client satisfaction by resolving product issues and offering ongoing support.
- Reporting: Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports for senior management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in sales within the oil & gas industry, ideally with a focus on drill bits or downhole products.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of drilling processes, drill bit technologies, and oilfield operations.
- Sales Skills: Proven ability to close deals and meet or exceed sales targets.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Location: Willingness to travel frequently within the region.
