About the TeamOn the Canvas Design System team, we work across multiple Workday product areas, alongside specialized application designers and engineers. Our job is to consider things at a system level, ensuring consistency and coherence while solving the specific user problem at hand. We work with our Canvas Kit (React/HTML/CSS) development teams to contribute to the library of components, consult on features and patterns, maintain documentation libraries - and a lot of other exciting stuff.
Our focus is on self-service and scalability. Creating robust processes to empower our users (other designers and developers in Workday and beyond) to contribute back to the system.
About the Role
We are looking for a Product Designer to join our Design System team, Canvas. If you have a passion for creating great user experiences, an understanding of component-based architectures, and a desire to be a part of building a world-class design system-that operates at a global scale-then read on.

4+ years industry experience
Experience building and maintaining a design system
B.A./B.Sc. degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, etc.), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS) or a related field, or equivalent practical/real-world experience
A portfolio demonstrating your problem solving ability and a deep appreciation for simple, sleek and usable interfaces
You have experience with building and maintaining a design system
You are familiar with industry conventions around tokens, components, patterns, etc.
You have a proven track record of making real impacts to users (with success metrics to support)
You have designed products for mid to large enterprise companies, working in an agile environment
You have strong team collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
You have excellent communication, presentation and networking skills
You have collaborated with product management and engineering counterparts
You have experience working with collaborators across time zones and continents
You can think strategically and use user research to influence product roadmaps
You want to take ownership over what you’re designing, and see it grow and make an impact
You have the ability to dive in and learn complex systems and interfaces
You enjoy systems thinking, the ability to consider problems at different zoom-levels, across multiple products
You’re eager to learn from more experienced members
