Job Description

  • 5+ years of experience with cloud solutions, real-time 3D game engines (Unity/Unreal), virtual platforms, software development experience, and operational management practices and frameworks
  • 5+ years of experience with AR/VR tools for 3D model preparation and computer vision (object tracking, spatial anchors, SLAM, ARKit, ARCore)
  • 5+ years of experience with animation and visual effects production pipelines and workflow experience
  • Experience with Maya, Nuke, Houdini, cloud rendering, or streaming
  • Experience with scripting (shell, Perl, PowerShell, Python, or similar)
  • Bachelor’s degree

AWS is seeking an experienced and motivated technologist with a passion for creating strategies, best practices and solving complex business challenges focusing on Animation, Visual Effects, and AR/VR workflows.
The Visual Computing Solutions Architect will be responsible for creating and driving the technical strategies to help customers realize advanced 3D graphics workflows in next-generation cloud-based production pipelines. You will partner with our Go-To-Market (GTM) and engineering teams to provide solutions to solve customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of cloud technology in film, television, marketing and design, architecture, and related fields.

As a Visual Computing Solutions Architect, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to redefine how innovative animation, Visual Effects, and AR/VR companies create, compute, and consume 3D content by helping deliver solutions that enable creators to realize their vision at a scale not seen before. As a technical expert you'll be at the tip of the spear for technology thought leadership and implementation with major customers across Media and Entertainment, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Retail, and beyond.

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a deep understanding of 2D and 3D computer graphics, use cases, architectures, workflow and ecosystem, and expertise with pipeline, content creation, rendering, simulation, and virtualization. The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical to a Solutions Architect. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working With Lighthouse Customers and Partners. Build a strong network of customers who are interested in new and empowering cloud solutions. Work with these customers to become early adopters of new services and technologies.

  • Shape the Go-To-Market plan. Help define the market segments, customer base, and industry verticals for new and existing AWS services

  • Incubate and Launch New Services or Key Features. Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings. Be a part of the core team that works with customers and ensures that we have strong customer references.

As a trusted customer advocate, you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy around adoption of relevant AWS services. You will need to be adept at interacting, communicating, and partnering with other teams within AWS such as the in-house production team, services team, marketing, and professional services.

Must be open to travel at least 30%. We are also open to candidates near AWS offices in: Seattle, San Francisco, San Jose, Irvine, San Diego.
