The VMware Modern Application Platform Business Unit (MAPBU) is looking for a Manager of Technical Program Management to join us in building the Tanzu portfolio that transforms how the world builds, deploys, and scales software. This role will be responsible for coaching, managing, and advocating for the TPM function and team within the VMware Tanzu Observability program, one of our most strategic and fastest-growing franchises. Our TPM team works across product engineering teams and other roles to be the ‘glue’ that facilitates the growth of our processes and culture to build and maintain our org as a strong, inclusive, efficient, and fun place.
You will help our organization most effectively leverage the Technical Program. Manag role and grow its impact. As the leader of the TPM team, you will help guide its evolution as it seeks out new opportunities to amplify our product teams' effectiveness and contribute to our operational and business success. Desired Skills / Experience:
3+ years of experience leading large-scale, enterprise product delivery programs.
6+ years of experience managing direct reports and building and growing effective teams.
Experience delivering multiple parallel releases across a complex landscape, in which several product teams are building product features and managing dependencies with other programs and products within a large portfolio.
Extensive knowledge and practical experience with agile software delivery methodologies, lean governance, and portfolio management for SaaS, on-prem, and/or hybrid software delivery models.
Proven ability to define, establish, and maintain a consistent, traceable decision-making process across a wide landscape of stakeholders that includes VP-level participants.
Experience establishing organizational and software delivery metrics, building reports and dashboards detailing customer success, project execution, and/or other program health indicators.
Experience planning and coordinating efforts to support aligned business planning, tracking, and communication of product delivery expectations with potential and existing customers.

You have become deeply familiar with our product suite and can synthesize product and engineering information into new, creative solutions and proactive risk mitigation.
You have worked with various programs to produce high-quality work, establish product release plans, maintain the appropriate channels for open communication within the program as well as external dependencies, manage timelines, identify and resolve technical gaps, and coach program leadership and team members to develop and understand the ‘why’ behind supportive lean/agile capabilities.
You have enabled the improvement of several key software delivery practices/processes and shortened cycle times around organizational learning.
