The Opportunity

As part of our Financial Planning & Analysis team, the Director of Business Intelligence will help drive informed decision-making at scale in real time for Rapid7 and our customers.

The Director of Business Intelligence will join as one of the key analytical leaders for the company and manage a Center of Excellence of Analysts and Data Scientists that are responsible for building advanced data models, building and maintaining visualizations and working with our data engineering team and business users to create and maintain data models. This position will report to the SVP of Financial Planning & Analysis and work directly with business heads from our Platform and Solutions Practices, Customer Success, Marketing & Sales, Accounting & Finance and the Executive Team to meet the data requirements for these groups, while leading our Power Users, Super Users and Adjunct Analysts from across the enterprise.

In this role you will:

  • Meet with departmental business heads to help define reporting and / or analytical requirements

  • Work closely with Data Engineering team to prioritize and manage data requirements for the enterprise

  • Work closely with IT and Data Engineering on system architecture to support the company's data needs

  • Coach and advise the business on effective data practices

  • Work closely with Information Security and Data Engineering team to manage security and governance issues

  • Utilize knowledge of data science concepts including statistics, data mining, and predictive analytics to support various business needs

  • Head up the Data Management Council and other cross-functional teams

  • Perform ad-hoc data examination across a variety of business disciplines

  • Guide, drive and manage a team of data analysts

In return you will bring:

  • 10 years of experience as an Analyst or manager of Analysts, preferably with some experience in Accounting or Finance

  • Experience with Tableau or similar visualization tools; Advanced Analytics tools such as R

  • Business applications such as, Netsuite and Workday; Preferably cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, SQL, R, Python

  • At least 3 years of experience managing people

  • Exceptional project management skills

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to concisely present data to drive outcomes

  • Critical thinking and inquisitiveness coupled with the desire to continuously learn new skills

  • Collaborator and are able to build and establish solid partnerships at all levels

  • Hard-working, passionate teammate who thrives in an agile environment
