POSITION SUMMARY

As an integral member of the Western Team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing regional sales strategies to meet growth targets in boiler sales, service, and water treatment solutions. In this newly created position, you will be part of a very supportive sales team. Working out of a home office you will be managing the sales process from start to finish to acquire new customers.

This role requires someone who can travel over 50% of their time and be able to support and work collaboratively with our current distributor in BC to help secure new business. Reporting directly to the Assistant Sales Manager, the successful individual will be someone who is self-motivated with a strategic mindset and an understanding of industrial manufacturing, engineering, and water treatment systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will be responsible for new business development for the following areas:

Industrial Boilers & Water Treatment Solutions

  • Identify and prospect potential customers and provide industrial boiler and water treatment solution packages based on customer needs and requirements
  • Perform client energy needs assessment to determine required steam and resources
  • Conduct product presentations for consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, as well as potential clients
  • Generate leads through cold calling/prospecting activities by utilizing well defined strategies
  • Provide analysis of markets, trends, partnerships, competition, portfolios, technologies, and revenues
  • Increase sales and profits by meeting assigned targets for profitable sales volume and margin
  • Define growth plans and enable Sales to deliver on initiatives
  • Participate in sales activities including customer site visits, telephone contacts, trade seminars and shows, product demonstrations/evaluations, and customer seminars
  • Create and nurture prospect pipeline by effectively proposing Miura products
  • Perform daily CRM updates and maintain sales pipeline
  • Increase lobby activities for provincial safety authorities and other relevant industry associations, for purpose of increasing sales
  • Create proposals, presentations, contracts, calculations, with the purpose of gaining new business and maintaining existing accounts
  • Recommend and sell new Miura Water Treatment (WT) equipment solutions for boilers and cooling systems, to clients in territory
  • Act as customer’s water and energy consultant for all items treated by Miura products

KEY QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

Requirements:

  • 2 - 5+ years of new business development sales experience in a related industry (preferably in steam, water treatment and/or food & beverage manufacturing, chemical, engineering or HVAC etc.)
  • Manufacturing or engineering background is preferred
  • Proven ability to learn highly technical / engineering information on industrial boilers
  • Ability to comprehend industrial boiler information manuals that involve engineering concepts, prints, schematics, drawings, and technical bulletins
  • Industry knowledge specific to water treatment would be an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written in English), organizational, and analytical skills
  • Cold calling & prospecting skills a must
  • Proven track record of selling B2B large capital equipment and achieving sales targets
  • Self-motivated with a strategic approach
  • Problem-solving mentality with a can-do attitude
  • Willing to move to action quickly and not get derailed in details or fear of failure
  • Ability to develop and execute a business plan and manage territory as it is one's own business
  • Excellent negotiation and multi-tasking skills

EDUCATION:

  • Post-Secondary Degree, Diploma, or Technical Vocation in a mechanical, HVAC, scientific, or mathematical discipline

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Salesforce CRM experience a definite asset
  • Ability to adapt to and learn new software
  • Advanced knowledge of Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness to travel, with no violations on drivers abstract
  • Requires 50-70% travel with 3-4 overnights per month
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations
  • High energy, enthusiastic, entrepreneurial
  • Resilience, strong work ethic is essential
