This role sits within Laurentian Bank, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.

The Manager, Business Development, is responsible for managing his/her sales force as well as guiding and directing the branch's sales tactics. In addition, the incumbent works closely with the Branch Manager to implement the measures required to achieve branch objectives related to wealth under management, profitability and new business development. S/he is, moreover, responsible for managing a strategic client portfolio. The incumbent reports to the Branch Manager and is part of the branch management team.

Responsibilities


Manage his/her team effectively and provide coaching.
Manage his/her employees in compliance with current legislation and the Bank's policies, programs and procedures.
Assess the performance and develop the potential of the advisors under his/her responsibility.
Optimize the contribution of the advisors under his/her responsibility in order to achieve wealth under management and service quality goals.
Provide coaching to his/her team on a daily basis.
Set training and development goals for his/her employees.
Set the key performance indicators for his/her team.
Process client complaints and ensure corrective and preventive measures are implemented according to set quality standards.
Work alongside the Branch Manager to ensure a work environment that fosters the development of human resources and promotes and rewards initiative and creativity.
Optimize the leeway granted within the role and ensure the application of risk management standards and compliance with current policies and procedures.
Monitor operating costs under his/her responsibility and track management indicators.
Provide support to advisors in client meetings, lead and implement sales activities, and help foster a performance culture inside his/her team.

Business development specialist
Act as a business development strategies specialist for the branch.
Plan and organize sales and solicitation activities.
Work alongside the Branch Manager to build development strategies for increasing wealth under management.
Represent the organization and promote the Bank's image in the community by developing and maintaining business relations with current and potential clients.
Readjust sales and solicitation activities according to the desired results.

Portfolio management
Target clients' needs and his/her portfolio needs and predict how the situation may evolve; recommend financial strategies adapted to client needs.
Cultivate and maintain ongoing business relationships with the clients in his/her portfolio and potential clients.
Meet with clients to help them identify and prioritize their financial projects and goals.
Analyze and evaluate client financial and investment needs based on their financial situation.
Apply and continuously update his/her knowledge of compliance and current legislation.

Qualifications


University degree in a relevant field and a minimum three years of relevant experience
License of Dealing Representative of a Mutual Fund Dealer
