Sales Operations Director
The Sales Operations Director will coordinate within Sales and require the capabilities & interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with Finance, IT, Market Access, Marketing, Medical, Training, and Operations. The scope of this position requires initiating and executing growth strategies while optimizing profitability. Key deliverables include 1) design, development and administration of all incentive compensation plans, 2) development of effective and efficient call plans, 3) implementation of field technology that enables seamless customer/home office engagement, and 4) ensuring over salesforce execution which supports brand and portfolio strategy, as well as upcoming launches.
Responsibilities:
  • Identify new opportunities for growth by monitoring ordering trends and evaluating market trends, then work with sales management to develop and execute strategies that will increase sales performance
  • Lead the annual goal setting process, particularly forecasts, and any adjustments throughout the year
  • Improve current programs and identify new opportunities in order to create a world class sales organization, including but not limited to sales representative and management effectiveness, product launches, sales initiatives, field enablement (CRM) platforms, and FTE resource planning/allocation
  • Work with sales management to ensure appropriate open territory coverage and goaling
  • Work with Training to implement the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Work with IT and Finance to establish and enhance sales data reporting tools and dashboards, which result in timely understanding of performance, trends, and reaction to market conditions that optimizes sales results
  • Work with the Market Access, Marketing, and Medical teams on the creation, training, and measuring effectiveness of sales messaging, campaigns, and pilot programs
  • Lead compensation process including, but not limited to, commission structure and administration, promotions, awards, and SPIFFs, which keep compensation (i.e. base & variable) motivating, fair, within budget, and competitive within the marketplace
  • Organize business acumen for national meetings, manager meetings, and POA meetings
  • Ensure all sales operations systems meet compliance requirements
  • Support Speakers Bureau to ensure proper execution, areas of improvement and troubleshooting issues

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or life sciences required
  • Advanced degree (MBA) preferred
  • Experience in medical device or diagnostic industry is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is required
  • Experience in Sales Force Design, Targeting, Incentive Compensation
  • Strong analytical skills in understanding complex financial, customer, marketing data and drawing relevant conclusions leading to actions
  • Familiarity with the US medical provider system, especially doctor practice and ordering patterns
  • Demonstrated ability to outline, propose and execute innovative data driven programs in complex Sales environments
  • Extensive experience supporting technical design of commercial systems and implementing applications (CRM)
  • Experience in working with and influencing senior management teams
  • Experience in payer interactions and reimbursement
  • Strong team player with ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work with many cross-functional partners
  • Self-starter and motivated to completely understand a business and use that knowledge to continually improve performance
  • Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress
  • Detail-oriented while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Ability to teach, influence and engage audience in live and remote settings while assessing needs
  • Understanding of buyer/decision-maker types, listening skills, verbal/presentation skills, and ability to assess & respond to customer needs
