Job Description

As a Catering Sales Manager, you'll be the maestro behind the scenes, orchestrating seamless events and creating lasting memories for our clients. Your enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication will elevate our catering services to new heights! This position is on-site, with hours typically Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Host Engaging Tours: Showcase our hotel and meeting spaces, guiding prospective and current clients through tailored tours that highlight our unique offerings.
  • Event Collaboration: Partner closely with clients to understand and fulfill all meeting/event space setup, AV needs, and food & beverage requests, ensuring smooth execution of memorable events.
  • Craft Perfect BEOs: Efficiently create accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and catering agreements, delivering them promptly for client approval and signatures.
  • Master of Time Management: Prioritize tasks effectively, maximizing time and processes to achieve seamless workflow and outstanding results.
  • Client-Centric Communication: Respond swiftly to client inquiries via phone, email, and other correspondence, expertly developing proposals for qualified leads and maintaining timely follow-ups to secure new business.
  • Negotiate & Secure Business: Skillfully negotiate event space and guest rooms for prospective clients, building long-term relationships that drive business success.
  • Precision in Contracting: Prepare and deliver clear, accurate contracts for guest rooms and meeting space that align with client expectations.
  • Upsell Like a Pro: Elevate client experiences by upselling catering options and offering creative enhancements to make every event unforgettable.
  • AV & F&B Estimates: Create comprehensive AV and food & beverage estimates that align with client budgets and elevate their event experience.
  • Bring Visions to Life: Collaborate with clients to transform their ideas into fully realized event concepts that exceed expectations.
  • Pre-Convention Expertise: Organize and lead pre-convention meetings with clients to ensure every detail is executed flawlessly.
  • Monitor & Optimize: Track customer spending to guarantee food minimums are met, while offering creative solutions to enhance their event experience.
  • Support Sales Success: Assist Sales Managers during property tours, highlighting our space and services to prospective clients.
  • Secure Payments: Ensure proper payment or credit information is collected for all assigned groups, guaranteeing smooth financial transactions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Gather post-event feedback to identify opportunities for improvement, consistently enhancing future event experiences.
  • Networking Savvy: Represent the hotel at on-site and off-site networking events, building relationships and driving new business.

Qualifications:

  • Proven Expertise: 1-2 years of experience in hotel, sales, or catering.
  • Welcoming Presence: Warm personality with a passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Team-Driven: Committed to contributing to the team’s success across all tasks, projects, and initiatives.
  • Strong Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Tech-Savvy: High proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Amadeus, Salesforce, or other catering software is a plus.
  • Detail-Oriented & Organized: A sharp eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Creative Thinker: Experience with meeting space diagramming tools and a knack for handling audio-visual needs.
  • Multitasking Master: Ability to juggle high-focus tasks while seamlessly switching to selling meeting spaces and guest rooms, all while hitting deadlines.
  • Problem Solver: Inquisitive and adaptable with a natural talent for solving challenges quickly.
  • Guest-Centric: Responds promptly to guest requests with a friendly demeanor, delivering top-tier personalized service.
  • Independent & Confident: An independent thinker with the ability to make confident decisions and execute plans with minimal oversight.
  • Collaborative Partner: Works closely with the Operations team to ensure all event expectations are not just met, but exceeded from start to finish.

Experience

Required
  • 1 - 2 years: Previous Hospitality Experience
  • 1 - 2 years: Previous Sales and/or Catering Experience
