Duties

Summary

This position located in any Field Division, Office of Field Operations, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The incumbent of this position will exercise full supervisory responsibilities and authority over non-supervisory Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) employees. Also serves as the primary division intelligence subject matter expert. Acts as the division’s intelligence liaison to other internal and external partners.


Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and guidance to the CGIC and directs and/or coordinates assigned task studies or projects.
  • Makes initial work assignments to subordinates ensuring efficiency and economy of intelligence operations.
  • Ensure the field division's intelligence efforts are coordinated with the field division SAC and all requests and referrals from OSII are responded to in a timely manner.
  • Assist the SAC with creation and or modification of field division criminal intelligence collection priorities or an overall collection plan.
  • Ensure field groups adhere to the field division collection plan or collection priorities.
  • Ensures criminal intelligence information reports, advisors, and assessments submitted by subordinates meet the standard reasonable indication.
  • Plans, coordinates and oversees the effective development of CGIC programs.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progresses.

    Qualifications

    To qualify for GS14 candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-13 Federal grade level.
    Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Examples of specialized experience is defined as providing leadership and guidance to the field intelligence groups and directing and/or coordinating assigned special studies or projects of which may cross functional lines and may involve other government agencies or the industry. Extracting, compiling and analyzing factual information to be used for conducting intelligence research in support of investigative operations.

    The GS-14 starts at $108885. If you are a new federal (civil service) employee, your starting salary will be set at the Step 1 for this position and the grade level for which you are selected.
