Inside Sales Assistant (Entry Level)
Summary of Position
The Inside Sales Assistant is responsible for providing premier customer service to all current and potential customers from the point of initial contact through delivery of the product. It is also the responsibility of the Inside Sales Assistant to achieve sales and profit goals established by the management team at Sunshine Metals, Inc. (SMI)
Salary Range
40-45k Annually
Responsibilities and Duties
As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Inside Sales Assistant. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.
  • Increase sales and provide support for current customer base as assigned.
  • Prepare proposals, quotes, and sales contracts.
  • Promptly respond to Request for Quotes for current and potential customers. Overall goal is no later than 24 hours per RFQ.
  • Coordinate workflow with company staff to achieve closing of sales quotes.
  • Meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals set by Inside Sales Manager, i.e. dollars booked and calls per day.
  • Proactively review open orders and advise customers of delivery status changes.
  • Provide technical assistance and solutions for customer returns.
  • Manage account services through follow-up and quality checks.
  • Develop and maintain existing product knowledge and sales materials.
  • Formulate analysis of sales data to assist in establishing specific account pricing.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with other Inside Sales Representatives, Regional Sales Representatives, management, and other co-workers.
  • Prepare and present various sales status reports to the General Manager weekly that includes activity, follow-up, closing, and adherence to targets.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and codes of business ethics
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years of experience in sales
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving skills, and time management skills
  • Marketing experience, ensuring ability to recognize opportunities
  • Ability to effectively multi-task
  • Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations customers/suppliers
  • Strong work ethic; self-motivated
  • Creative; forward-thinker
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related area
  • Two or more years of experience in sales and marketing
  • Product knowledge

Working Conditions
Good working conditions. Frequent visual/auditory attention and involvement in discussions requiring reconciliation of adverse points-of-view. Requires continuous use of telephone to receive and give information.
