Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8 Hour Shift

Location: Wheat Ridge, CO

PAY IS ESTIMATED ON SKILL LEVEL, BUT IS STARTED AT 80K A YEAR.

Position Summary

To be successful in this role, you will need experience in estimating, contract management, vendor outreach, business development, and proposals. As Estimator, you will strengthen relationships with current and prospective partners and submit bids prior to the due date.

· Solid understanding of underground heavy civil utility construction, specifically earthwork and installation of water, sanitary sewer, and storm water pipe.

· Review bid documents, site conditions, plans and specifications; prepare takeoffs; obtain subcontractor and material quotes; seek potential cost savings; develop pricing for proposed work; review bids and collaborate on final bid adjustments; and submit bids to owners.

· Build relationships with owners, municipalities, architects, engineers, and subcontractors and stay informed of upcoming projects.

· Meet with client management, staff, and supervisory personnel to introduce services, expertise, and capabilities of the company.

· Assist in the development of area marketing plans and goals.

· Attend pre-bid meetings.

· Prepare and schedule turn over meetings and documents to ensure that the Project Manager and operations teams understand the entire scopes of work, budgets, productions and schedules prior to the start of construction.

· Notify management group of upcoming projects status and approximate timing for company proposal and bid submittals.

· Meets schedules and deadlines, adheres to policies and procedures.

Qualifications

5+ years experience as civil estimator for earth and utility projects
BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent related work experience
Ability to manage multiple bids and projects at the same time
Strong computer skills, including all MS Office products, MS Projects
Experience with Earthworks, Agtech, Planswift, Heavy Bid, and Sage Contractor 100 is a plus
Excellent communication skills, detail oriented, a positive attitude, and an ability to work well with all project team members
Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints
Ability to communicate & report effectively
Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
Valid driver’s license
