Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an environmental technician for large scale heavy civil construction and earthworks projects to join our environmental team out of Chetwynd, BC. You will be responsible for activities such as:
- Erosion and sediment control planning, implementation, and maintenance
- Developing and implementing construction environmental plans
- Conducting inspections for environmental compliance to any relevant permits
- Conducting soil and water sampling
- Conducting wildlife habitat assessments and sweeps.
- Preference will be given to local candidates for this role
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- Bachelor of Science degree or Technical Diploma in a related discipline
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience is preferred, but more or less experience will also be considered for this role
- Understanding of Federal and Provincial environmental regulations and standards and their application
- Previous experience on heavy construction and earthworks projects is preferred
- Future eligibility as a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) is an asset
- A love for the outdoors – this position involves fieldwork and potential camp-based rotations
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
- Confidence in identifying and communicating issues within a construction environment to support compliant construction
- Being a local resident of either Prince George, BC or Chetwynd BC
- A valid clean Class 5 driver’s license is required for this position

- Competitive pay range of $25-$35/ hour based on experience.
