Job Description

There is a full-time employment opening at Burnet Title in our Wayzata, MN Closing Office.

The ideal candidate for this role must be able to successfully and professionally facilitate the loan closing and transfer of title on a piece of real estate; develop and maintain relationships with real estate sales associates, lender clients, builders, and developers in order to generate business; act as an agent for the title insurance agency and the title insurance underwriter; build and maintain client base, generate additional business for Burnet Title – this is done throughout the day while completing other tasks listed below:

Business Development:
  • Maintain on-going communication with existing customers to determine needs, solicit feedback, promote services.
  • Attend weekly sales meetings and monthly agent development sessions.
  • Call on outside business to generate additional orders/closings.
  • Assist in the resolution of customer service issues and concerns.
  • Review Purchase Agreement, lender's instructions, and title commitment.
  • Resolve title problems and verify the appropriate transfer of title.
  • Prepare HUD-1 Settlement Statement for closing.
  • Proof and review documentation for accuracy and content.
  • Packaging-In/Out the lender package.
  • Facilitate closings on and off-site.
  • Notarize and verify appropriate execution of documents.
  • Facilitate Remote Online Notarization closings.
  • Verify all title, underwriting, lender, and purchase agreement requirements are being met.
  • Verify appropriate disbursement of customer funds.
  • Review Purchase Agreement, lender's instructions, and title commitment.
  • Resolve title problems and verify the appropriate transfer of title.
  • Prepare Settlement Statement for closing.
  • Proof and review documentation for accuracy and content.
  • Back-up traditional closings as needed.

Customer Service/Clerical:
  • Fielding customer inquiries and responding with the necessary information, in a timely manner.
  • Copying and faxing documents and information, to assist the Closer (Closing Account Executive).
  • Retrieving files, filing paperwork, preparing files for storage.
  • Education – High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Skills – Must be professional with internal/external customers.
  • Must have good telephone etiquette and strong presentation skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Outlook Skills. Must be well organized and detail-oriented. CORE/iClosings Direct experience preferred.
  • Work Experience – Minimum 3 years of experience closing for a title insurance agency is preferred.
  • Experience with Real Estate, Mortgage, and Legal Industries preferred
  • Ability to bend/squat and reach on occasion. Able to lift items up to approximately 15 pounds.
