Director of Sales and Business Development

EXACT is an established player in construction IOT. We work with large constructors and precasters who are creating the roads, bridges, tunnels and buildings of the future.

EXACT develops game-changing hardware and software solutions for construction companies globally. Our core competency is real-time, wireless, mission-critical monitoring of temperature, humidity, micro-strain and other parameters. We have earned a reputation for being the best at what we do.

We have grown our customer base exponentially since our inception, fueled substantially by word-of-mouth. However, we are motivated to accelerate industry penetration. The market is ripe to adopt our technology, and we want to meet the intensifying demand by expanding and enhancing our sales department.

As the Director of Sales and Business Development, you will oversee and manage our growing sales team. You will help organize our sales team, coach them to improve through imparting best practices appropriate to different sales styles, and track team member performance. Further, you will help management establish reasonable sales targets for each of our revenue centers, and you will direct our sales team to ensure that our revenue centers achieve those sales targets. Our clients love our solution. We need your leadership and experience to help us get more of what they love in their hands, and to reach prospective customers who don’t yet know what they’re missing.

Your responsibilities will include:

LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT Work with our sales team members to help them perform at their full potential. Mentor them, teach them best practices and share your knowledge to help them succeed. Organize them. Help them set reasonable sales objectives and goals that align with company strategy, and hold them accountable for meeting those targets.

SALES We know you love to sell. In this position, we want you to bring your “A” game. Doing so will be rewarding, as we’ve got a preeminent product that customers love because it delivers real value.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: You’ll be responsible for growing our sales volume and developing and nurturing relationships with decision makers. You will be responsible for generating new leads, networking with industry heavyweights, and promoting our products across the globe.

METRICS We want to make sure our team is properly focused. You’ll be responsible for developing and tracking KPI’s for the team, lending your expertise to set and to achieve targets, and communicating targets and results to management on a regular basis.

What we are looking for:

  • A proven leader who has at least 5 - 7 years experience in managing a sales team;
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in construction technology sales, the concrete industry, or similar;
  • Strong networking, relationship management and negotiation skills;
  • Existing contacts and strong relationships in the concrete/construction industries would be an asset;
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

We also have remote offices and team members in BC, Colorado and Florida. In this position, you can work from our office in Toronto or remotely. In this role, you can expect a competitive base salary as well as a commission/bonus structure.
