We are seeking a full-time Business Analyst to join our Systems Integration team. This position will report to the Project Manager.

What you will do

As a Business Analyst you will review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs. Some duties will include documenting business and user requirements, defining scope and objectives, and formulating systems to parallel overall business strategies. You will collaborate with the client and project team using a variety of communication strategies.

In addition, your typical responsibilities would include:

  • Conducts interviews to gather customer requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
  • Elicits, analyzes, specifies, and validates the business needs of the client and end users
  • Identifies and establishes scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
  • Works with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements.
  • Researches, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
  • Participates in the selection of any requirements documentation software solutions that the client may opt to use.
  • Develops and utilizes standard templates to write requirements specifications accurately and concisely.
  • Creates process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.
  • Assists with the interpretation of customer requirements into feasible options and communicating these back to the business stakeholders.
  • Manages and tracks the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.
  • Communicates changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements — verbally or through written documentation
  • Create and deliver training material internally or to client teams to support change management efforts throughout the course of the implementation, including PowerPoint presentations, user guides, exercises or training environment development

What we look for from you

To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the following skills and qualifications.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the utility industry
  • Gas and Electric utility experience preferred
  • Experience with large-scale Systems Integrations projects preferred
  • Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational
  • Detail oriented, analytical, and inquisitive
  • Ability to work independently and with others, strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback and adapt to project or teams evolving needs
  • Extremely organized with strong time-management skills
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Working knowledge of GIS concepts and analytical techniques, including computerized mapping and digital data conversion, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Experience with Esri GIS software tools and applications including but not limited to ArcGIS, ArcFM, ArcIMS, ArcSDE, MS Visio and applications of MS Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graphic work design
  • Compliance and outage communication systems (gas utilities)
  • Inspection and maintenance (electric utilities)

Location

Our primary offices are located in Denver, Milwaukee, and Tampa. We prefer that the candidate be located near one of our offices.

Compensation range

$51,500-$120,000/annually, depending on experience level and location
