What does this role look like?

As Associate Manager/Sr Producer of the Cinema Team, you will lead the Producers and Capture Teams (Video) supporting video and webcast productions for Lockheed Martin Space. As a people leader, you will help each team member with professional development and career advancement. Accountable for your team’s deliverables, you will assist the team in determining budget, scope, and schedule for projects and help resolve operational issues as needed.

You have a deep understanding of multiple productions, media management, and post-production pipelines, including high-end cinematic storytelling, ENG/EFP style shoots, and live webcasting. You thrive on the front lines, managing a high volume of incoming projects with time crunch deadlines, ensuring project delivery on time and budget. This means anticipating bottlenecks, making tradeoffs, and balancing the needs of various stakeholders. You are comfortable interfacing with executives, VIP government officials, and customers.

This role will offer you the following daily challenges:

  • Works with the team and leadership to cocreate the vision and course of the team including growth opportunities, talent development and new initiatives.
  • Develops performance standards in support of business outcomes and employee development to help the team achieve its potential.
  • Assists in creating and implementing team member’s career development and training plans to align skill sets and processes to industry standards and business needs. Support and advocate for the team through coaching, talent development, and career advancement.
  • Represents Space on Enterprise projects and across Lockheed Martin’s business areas as needed.
  • Works with the team and leadership to develop process improvements, new initiatives, production efficiencies, and implement best practices. Create best practice documents/decks and workshop tools. Identify opportunities for production efficiencies.
  • Leads operations for the team with a focus on timeline management, prioritization, risk mitigation, quality control standards, and operational success.
  • Ensures adherence to project deadlines and drive projects to completion. The first level of elevation for team’s conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, and proactively to facilitate team’s success.
  • Serves as the “go-to” for all technical video specifics, staying current with the latest trends, techniques, and tools related to production.
  • Leads the daily producer meetings and processes for vetting project requests, assessing/assigning resources, driving schedules through all stages of the production pipeline. Helps structure and prioritize workload to keep the team focused on key priorities, milestones, and deadlines.
  • Produces projects as assigned/needed.
  • Liaisons with Account Lead, leadership across the business, and other stakeholders, facilitating smooth production process and quick turn execution.

Basic Qualifications:
To be successful, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field with minimum of 8+ years working as Producer and/or Production Manager, with a minimum of 3+ years leadership experience and video team management
  • Thorough understanding of production management and operational procedures, including working knowledge of production delivery specs, production formats, and production logistics
  • Strong problem solving, project/time management, interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
  • Portfolio reflecting production expertise in agency, and/or corporate video demonstrating cinematography/videography and/or editing
  • Advanced technical skills in industry-standard cinematography/videography and editing: RED, Resolve, Premier, (basic AE)

  • A passion for scheduling and strong experience managing multiple calendars and project timelines
  • A deep love for efficiency and a need for speed
  • Previous experience working with advertising agencies, production companies, studios, and/or networks
