As a Catering Sales Manager at the Omni Tempe Hotel, you will be at the forefront of creating exceptional social and corporate events, from intimate gatherings to elaborate galas and weddings. Responsibilities:
- Actively sell the hotel’s catering services to local markets, engaging both corporate and social clients.
- Identify and develop new client opportunities through proactive outreach, prospecting calls, and regular follow-up.
- Leverage tools like Delphi.FDC and Salesforce to manage client information, track prospects, and drive sales effectively.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with frequent touchpoints, both on-site and through local sales events.
- Host client tours to showcase Omni Tempe’s spaces, inspiring clients with creative possibilities for their events.
- Collaborate with trade partners, community resources, and industry associations to increase hotel visibility.
- Lead clients through the entire sales cycle, from initial inquiry to final contract, creating compelling proposals tailored to each client’s vision.
- Generate detailed, transparent contracts, ensuring all elements align with Omni Hotels’ high standards.
- Collaborate with clients to enhance every detail of their program, from custom menu design to room layouts, making each event unique and unforgettable.
- Work closely with the culinary, banquet, and operations teams to service and execute events seamlessly, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
- Represent Omni Tempe at local and national events, catering shows, and community gatherings to stay connected and build an extensive network.
- Stay attuned to trends in the catering and events industry to keep the Omni Tempe Hotel’s offerings fresh and competitive.
- Drive revenue through smart, results-oriented strategies that meet client expectations while achieving hotel financial goals.
- Oversee budgets, negotiate favorable contract terms, and manage department profitability.
- Ensure a top-tier guest experience by providing attentive, responsive, and friendly service at every client interaction.
- Handle inquiries promptly, anticipate client needs, and resolve any issues to guarantee satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Bachelor's degree or greater preferred, or 3+ years of relevant experience.
- A proactive salesperson with a passion for hospitality and creating memorable client experiences.
- Proven track record in catering or event sales, with expertise in managing sales funnels and meeting or exceeding targets.
- Experience with Delphi.FDC, Salesforce, and Social Tables or similar tools.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration across departments.
- Commitment to providing exceptional service, with a talent for transforming ideas into unforgettable events.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
