Job Description
The National Group Sales Manager will contract business with 21 rooms on peak or greater with a focus on pro-active solicitation of new profitable business to maximize revenue potential for the hotel while creating an inspiring hospitality experience for the Group guest.
They will prioritize achieving monthly room night and banquet food and beverage goals, develop and implement sales action plans, maintain positive interdepartmental communications and to complete special projects timely.
Responsibilities
- Follow all booking guidelines and process established for the department.
- Participate in sales trips targeting specific regional areas with a targeted group business approach.
- Solicit accounts within assigned market segment whiling maintaining current relationships.
- Prospect and develop new accounts in line with the hotel's stated Mission Statement.
- Maintain aggressive weekly telephone, site inspection and follow-up call goals.
- Active involvement in industry associations and trade shows.
- Create strong internal and external relationships.
- Prepare proposals, contracts and turnovers following department policies and procedures.
- Entertain clients in a professional manner in keeping with the organization's standards and values.
- Achieve quarterly revenue, new business development and prospecting goals.
- Participate in industry events and organizations as it pertains to the assigned market.
- Requires the ability to compile objective and measurable data and produce reports assigned.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends & holidays due to business demands.
- Maintain a professional image adhering to the dress code standards set forth.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or 3+ years of hotel sales or other hotel experience
- Knowledge of Hotel Group Sales, yield management and Hotel revenue goals
- Experience working in hotel sales management systems (Salesforce Delphi and Cvent)
- Strong business acumen, and communication skills; written and verbal
- Experience in "cold calling" and solicitation
- Ability to problem solve effectively
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with prompt follow up on all inquiries & client requests
- Proactive, self-motivated, energetic individual with a high attention to detail
The Hotel functions seven days a week and 24-hours a day. All employees, both management and hourly, must realize, at times, it may be necessary to move an employee from their accustomed shift so support business demands.
