Gerrie Electric, one of Ontario’s largest independent electrical distributors has an opening for a motivated individual to join our growing team.

Expeditor – Burlington

Responsible for expediting of all purchase orders generated by the Central Purchasing department, including confirmation matching and delivery date updating. The incumbent of this role will foster open dialogue between Gerrie and outside Vendors to ensure premium level of service is provided by Vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

§ Using System generated open order reports prepare, fax and/or email open detail lines to the Vendors. Where applicable, inquiry can be made on-line using the Vendor’s system.

§ Update any delivery dates in the business system using the expediting package

§ Work with all customer service reps and buyers to maintain customer satisfaction and possible alternate product solutions as required

§ Purchasing of Lighting Studio vendors required daily and some purchasing may be required to assist CP department when short staffed.

§ Advise coworkers and Managers on any possible delivery issues, substitutions or discontinued product.

§ Contact Vendor for receiving problems/errors

Minimum Requirements:

§ Must have 3+ years of purchasing/related experience

§ Exceptional customer service skills and commitment to customer success

§ Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment with multiple and changing priorities

§ Must have good communication skills and be able to work as part of a team

§ Proficient with MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
