Job Description – Advertising Account Executive

Division / Department:
Reports to (position): Digital Sales and Partnership Manager
Level / Grade: Individual Contributor
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full Time, Exempt
Work Conditions: Office Environment/ Telecommute
Travel: Up to 25%
Telecommute: Yes
Minimum Educational Req: Two or four-year college degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in the area of marketing or a related field
Years of Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing or Business preferred; or 3-5 years of similar experience.

Position Summary:

The Advertising Account Executive is responsible for selling and executing upon a B2B revenue-generating channel that includes program creation, product growth, advertising sales, affiliate development, and overall channel management.

Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:

  • Research prospective organizations and partnership opportunities
  • High-activity email and phone prospecting and outreach
  • Identify decision-makers and influencers in target organizations
  • Data management in Salesforce and other internal systems
  • Build, qualify, and maintain a portfolio of partners and prospects that are aligned with The CE Shop
  • Help to create, sell, and manage a suite of revenue-generating products for The CE Shop that provide benefits for visitors to our site, email recipients, podcast listeners, etc.
  • Develop and maintain affiliate relationships with partners that allow us to offer new products to our students while generating additional revenue for The CE Shop
  • Prospect for qualified regional and national businesses and present and close appropriate marketing solutions
  • Consult as a strategic business partner with customers offering a variety of advertising, marketing, and audience sales solutions.
  • Maintain and service accounts by evaluating customer’s needs, utilizing applicable research, making presentations, preparing written proposals, closing sales, and reporting on results
  • Work with corporate marketing teams to develop support materials and execute campaigns
  • Work with existing industry partners to develop programs and maintain partnerships
  • Accurately forecast revenues, meet and exceed monthly quotas for all product lines, and overachieve annual quota
  • Monitor competitive media, trends across markets or client industries and identify opportunities to increase market share

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience in creating (prospecting, selling, closing, managing) strategic client relationships.
  • Experience in working with key decision-makers and industry influencers resulting in successful channel penetration and increased market share.
  • Experience developing and implementing sales and service processes and supporting metrics through sales data collection and analysis
  • Proven effectiveness of establishing and maintaining strong relationships resulting in collaborative strategies to drive growth
  • Incredibly detail-oriented, with a passion for accuracy and quality
  • Experience managing accounts at all levels
  • Experience developing relationships with local and national businesses and organizations
  • Ability to present and develop a rapport with sales and marketing professionals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite of products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with the Google platform (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Hangouts, Google Analytics)
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM Software
  • Experience with video conferencing (Zoom, GoToMeeting, etc.) and general A/V knowledge to effectively present to clients
  • Comfortable with learning and adapting to new technologies

Internal and external interaction:
This position interacts with peers both in and out of the department and their immediate manager on a regular basis. They may interact with customers and vendors directly in escalation or support situations in a large geographical area. They may interact with managers in other departments.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not supervise the work of others.
