This Dealer Development Manager position will manage business relationships by assessing the needs of Generac’s Tier I dealers educating on how to take full advantage of Generac’s cutting edge tools and programs to help them develop and grow their business. The Dealer Development Manager will use their in -depth knowledge of proven process, systems and methods to assess business strategy and help our channel partners maximize profitability This position will act as a liaison between assigned channel partners and work closely with the Vice President, Director of Sales and Territory Development Managers, to create business plans, develop new opportunities, and market segments.

Essential Duties:
Analyze Channel Partner’s needs and utilize insights from business tools along with your perspective to increase customer’s profitability
Develop and maintain customers by helping them develop and implement a complex annual sales and marketing plan
Maintain a thorough knowledge of products (new and existing), policies and merchandising information to effectively serve dealers.
Proactively meet with assigned Tier I channel partners on a regular basis to ensure implementation of programs, sales , tools, and products
Work with Channel Partners to set business goals and make recommendations for future business development
Assist channel partners with development of key performance metrics for business growth
Work with channel partner to track business growth and analyze program results
Define training methods for key sales and business programs and tools: Sales Enablement, Financing, Installation
Define future training program needs to support the business functions for sales teams as well as the channel partners
Work with internal departments to execute training programs and curriculum for local and national channel partners
Evaluate training success and evaluate trends for future training needs
Facilitate training programs on a local and regional level to support the development of all of Generac’s channel partners to meet established standards

Minimal Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field or equivalent experience
7 years account management and/or business planning experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience developing and facilitating small group training sessions instructing how to sell products and effectively represent company brand

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
Ability to act proactively, independently, and decisively to quickly assess needs and identify logical solutions
Ability to think and act strategically
Ability to work collaboratively across business unit's hierarchy and functions
Excellent analytical, organization and project management skills
Cross/multi-functional understanding of industry, company, and products to enable identification of assumptions and events, and qualification of related risks and opportunities
Knowledge and application of theories and principles of finance and accounting and business analysis. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and database applications
Strong written and verbal communication, team, and partnering skills
Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Up to 50% travel and valid Driver’s License required
