As a Sales Development Program Manager, you will play a meaningful role in driving the success of our training and process initiatives. You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enhance our technical training, improving Sales Development Engineer (SDE) efficiency and effectiveness, and building a sustainable talent pipeline. Your expertise in sales processes, test and measurement, and project management will be critical in achieving our goals. Your projects often span offices, time zones and continents, and it's your job to keep all the players coordinated on varied projects.
We’re redefining our Sales Development program, and your efforts will be core to the team’s goals to improve technical expertise, optimize our technical toolchain, simplify metrics, celebrate success, and create a talent pipeline.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and deliver a comprehensive technical, leadership, and product training plan for SDEs
- Ensure SDEs are well-versed in NI’s customer engagement process
- Supervise the implementation and adoption of tools by the sales team, maintaining existing tool productivity and creating cases for new tool adoption
- Develop a recruiting strategy for SDE and work with HR to identify and attract top university talent for SDE positions
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new SDEs, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles
- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance program effectiveness, creating common metrics, dashboards, and reporting cadences for the function
- Champion alignment across NI regions and functions, confirming the program is providing the correct talent profiles to marketing, sales, and applications engineering
- Identify key program needs and autonomously prioritize activities based on the needs of the program and NI T&M
- Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail, balancing many disparate projects
- Drive accountability for project timely execution and implementation
- You’re a self-starter; proactive, motivated, and able to work independently
- You optimally handle cosophisticated team needs and maintain regular communication channels
- You are inspired by technology its translation to test and measurement customer problems
- You break down challenging concepts into easily understandable ideas and project plans
- You’re passionate about identifying and enabling top engineering sales talent and helping them get to the next stage in their careers
- You lead by example, pushing pace throughout the organization
- You can intake sophisticated requirements and delegate appropriate tasks across the organization
- You are comfortable running with multiple projects simultaneously
- 6+ years of sales or sales management experience at NI T&M or a comparable test and measurement company
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or 6+ years of relevant technical experience
- Strong English language mastery and technical communication skills
- Strong presentation skills to create a clear vision and team understanding
- Live in or relocate to Austin, TX or San Jose, Costa Rica
- Sales enablement and/ or program management experience
- Experience working with Sales Development Engineers
- Experience working with new engineers and sales people
- Experience using NI T&M tools like LabVIEW, PXI, or CompactDAQ
- SFDC CRM mastery
- Knowledge of marketing and lead management processes
- Knowledge of sales reporting and metrics
- Ability to communicate complex information to engineers and non-engineers
- Experience in campus recruiting and onboarding
- Experience working with global teams
