Job Description

The Business Development Manager is primarily responsible for the generation of new business for Freightview. This role will work with and build relationships with multiple groups internal to C.H. Robinson, including, but not limited to the Corporate Sales Team, CHR Global Sales, Verticals, Office Network, TMC, Global Account Centers and Executive team to foster involvement, leads, and support in sales activities. This role will also focus on externally selling the Freightview solution to customers. The role will also be responsible for leading and participating in strategic account discussions as well as contract and pricing strategy, working directly with the Freightview Sales team, Support team, and Freightview General Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Selling and closing CHR customer segmentation companies for Freightview
  • Adherence to the Freightview sales process
  • Acts as a trusted advisor by consulting with senior levels of decision makers including C-level, Directors, and Owners
  • Strategically engage proper resources in alignment with deal strategy and partner with resources to demonstrate an integrated Freightview solution
  • Utilize, manage, and update own activity in the CRM
  • Participate in strategic pricing sessions for the Freightview products and services
  • Create and lead proposal presentation; ensures message and approach are tailored to the needs of unique customer audiences (typically large groups of executive leaders representing various geographies and functional areas of the customer’s business)
  • Leads creation of the deal strategy engaging the deal team, SMEs, and executive sponsorship as necessary
  • Expense management
  • Navigates complex decision-making processes with multiple key decision makers, typically executives within the customer’s organization
  • Adhere to pricing models, processes and strategies
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience
  • Proven ability to create and sell comprehensive solutions and service packages to all buying influences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TMS or 3PL Experience Preferred
  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • Team-oriented
  • Ability to comprehend and sell complex solutions
  • Self-driven
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Advanced technical understanding of transportation management systems and service offerings
  • Proven ability to create and sell comprehensive solutions and service packages to all buying influences
  • Demonstrate strong presentation capabilities
  • Proven success at collaborating with and influencing others; ability to use these skills to influence many operational groups to participate in creating solutions for potential new customers
  • Strong strategic orientation, relationship building, negotiation skills and business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to compete aggressively and identify successful sales tactics that position our service favorably
