Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: The National Director of Sales is responsible forachieving annual gross revenue, net revenue, and velocity targets. Will be expected to show effective leadership and management of our sales team and broker network.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct all sales, sales staff, and sales related activities
  • Plan, develop, and establish sales tactics, policies, and processes
  • Maintain key customer relationships and further develop account penetration techniques
  • Evaluate the market position of competing brands and products
  • Confer with senior management to plan monthly, quarterly, and annual gross revenue, net revenue, velocity, and sales department budgetary targets
  • Develop a 12-month sales plan in concordance with the strategies of Company
  • Develop sales strategies, techniques, trade plans, and pricing structures to maximize sales volume and gross margin
  • Direct all field marketing teams and activities
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute shopper marketing and retail execution strategies
  • Insure the adequacy of field marketing and sales training programs
  • Overall responsibility for recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating sales and retail employee performance
  • Must be a role model for the company’s culture
  • Work closely with marketing to develop, establish, and direct new distribution and channel strategies

MUST HAVES

  • At least 5 years’ experience leading sales within a company of 25 or more employees
  • Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational level
  • Established contacts and relationships within the natural, conventional, mass, club and foodservice classes of trade
  • Experience leading sales for a perishable product (deli and/or produce experience a plus)
  • Experience working for an emerging, founder led brand
  • Outstanding selling abilities with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proven sales track record in a founder led emerging brand environment
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Willing to roll up their sleeves to do whatever it takes to get the job done
