Business Development Manager

Hillmann Consulting is a nationwide, full-service environmental consulting firm with more than 30 years of experience in providing customized Environmental Health and Safety, Remediation Support, Real Estate Due Diligence, Geotechnical and Laboratory Analysis services. We have an extensive background in performing emergency planning and first-response programs for major disasters worldwide, such as terror incidents, hurricanes, typhoons, floods, earthquakes, chemical spills, fires and building collapses.

As one of the nations' leading environmental consultants, Hillmann delivers environmental consulting with an uncompromising commitment to customer service, safety, and increasing value and quality to our clients. Hillmann has acquired an acute knowledge of federal and various state regulations. Hillmann develops programs for compliance with OSHA, DOT and EPA, which includes program design, exposure assessment, development of engineering controls, required training classes and documentation.

Hillmann Consulting, LLC has an immediate need for a Business Development Manager to join the Marketing group based out of our Springfield VA office. Hillmann is a fast growing, team-oriented company, looking for a motivated individual to grow and develop with us.

The successful candidate will: Be responsible for producing sales leads and establishing prospect relationships in support of our business development and operations teams. The position researches, identifies and generates new business opportunities; initiates prospect contact; conducts follow-up communications; develops relationships with new and existing customers; provides key account management; networks at industry functions and conferences; organizes and attends on-site meetings and keeps accurate activity records in our database.

This position is based out of our Springfield, Virginia Regional Office and supports the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States. Travel throughout the territory to meet prospects, attend networking events and industry functions and perform sales duties is required.

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel required; additional software experience is a plus

Business Development Responsibilities May Include:

  • Source and identify leads in conjunction with target market, geographic location and industry assignments.
  • Research and identify new business opportunities.
  • Build and cultivate prospect relationships by initiating communications and conducting follow-up communications to move opportunities through the sales funnel.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision makers at multiple levels within the client organizations to drive expanded revenues.
  • Participate in networking events, trade shows, conferences and industry functions.
  • Engage in social interactions to identify and build rapport with prospective clients.
  • Schedule, coordinate, attend and organize on-site meetings and implement appropriate follow-up activities.
  • Achieve target goals for lead generation, calls, appointments and touchpoints.
  • Provide client and prospect entertainment and within expense allowance.
  • Evaluation of bid opportunities with management
