Arriva UK Trains (AUKT) are looking to engage a passionate and experienced Business Analyst to support our commercially focused train operating company Grand Central. The role will supply Grand Central with revenue analysis, insights, and trading reporting activities in order to deliver a comprehensive understanding of Grand Central’s trading performance and industry trends, while making recommendations to improve Grand Central’s commercial performance. The role will also provide support to wider AUKT commercial activity. Primarily based in York, with some flexibility for remote working, this is a full-time permanent position reporting to our UK Trains Revenue Manager.
Deliver full revenue forecasting and reporting function, while maintaining a set of KPIs
Develop a suite of value-adding reports that continually evolve to meet emerging needs
Support the AUKT Revenue Manager to lead the division’s ‘Rules of the Revenue’ revenue forecasting, reporting & insight activities; establishing best practice approaches to understanding and forecasting the trading performance of our businesses and ensuring our divisional and TOC resources are optimised to ensure we are delivering the insight and analysis our businesses need
Lead all revenue modelling, analysis and evaluation of business development initiatives for GC and other AUKT businesses as required, including timetable changes, additional services, strengthening services, new routes and impact of engineering and contingency planning
Strong analytical background, confident with using multiple data sets to produce clear, meaningful, and value-adding insight and analysis
Commercially aware and able to proactively apply data & insight to make recommendations which deliver commercial results in a trading business environment
Dynamic and positive individual with the enthusiasm for getting to grips with complex issues and juggle multiple responsibilities
Ability to build strong relationships across GC and AUKT to secure resources and support to drive the GC business forward
