Partner Engineering is a highly technical team that works with our strategic partners to integrate Facebook products into their mobile platforms, apps, and devices. In this unique partner-facing engineering team, you will use your excellent technical and business skills to deliver platform products that drive value for our community, our partners, and Facebook. The team plays a critical role in the success of our Connectivity programs through a variety of activities, such as helping partner OEMs and System integrators bundle Facebook products into their offerings and driving new applications and use cases with service providers. Our team has played an instrumental role in the launch and scaling of many connectivity-related initiatives here at Facebook.As a Technical Project Manager you will work closely with Facebook partner managers and Engineering teams worldwide handling the technical relationships with OEMs, System Integrators and Service Providers to scope and execute Connectivity deployments. You will get the opportunity to work on multiple key technologies alongside some of the most innovative companies and brightest minds in the world.
  • Manage multiple early stage and ambiguously scoped Facebook Connectivity projects in a matrix organization
  • Drive and complete projects from initiation to closure, implementing and adopting communication best practices with the partner and internally in Facebook
  • Ensure that Facebook project and support processes are followed throughout the partner life-cycle
  • Communicate partner needs to the Facebook product team to improve people’s experiences with our products
  • Work with Facebook product teams in creating and executing new programs with partners to accelerate Connectivity worldwide. Help launch brand new products including supporting early stage Alpha and Beta programs
  • Troubleshoot partner’s technical issues in real-time in cooperation with their engineering and second level operations teams and work with internal technical teams on resolving escalations
  • Use a broad range of technical and soft skills to build productive relationships with our partners
  • Use expertise and product insight to deliver high-quality project/integration/partner engagements, while sustaining self-driven productivity
  • Guide workflow changes, and gain consensus from stakeholders while driving to a solution
  • Respond and maintain effective communication with industry partners and internal stakeholders
  • Understand organizational structure and cross functional team dynamics and get support from and influence stakeholders as needed
  • Identify and surface insights using metrics on product usage to increase adoption and provide new solutions that address the needs of our partners
  • Build and manage strong working relationships with technical counterparts. Mentor and share knowledge with peers, creating a positive atmosphere amongst team
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time (No travel currently due to COVID-19)
  • 4+ years experience as a technical project manager, solutions engineer, technical sales consultant, technical account manager or partner/sales engineer in the telecommunications space
  • B.A/B.S in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience
  • Experience communicating and partnering with cross-functional teams
  • Experience coordinating, and multi-tasking in a highly organized manner
  • Experience with IT infrastructures (distributed, high availability, real-time infrastructures) and understanding of network protocols on different layers
  • Experience with mobile infrastructure, capabilities and network protocols, especially packet core infrastructure and BSS infrastructures for provisioning and charging
  • Experience drafting technical documentation, case studies and white papers
  • Knowledge of Cloud and DevOps
  • Knowledge of software development processes and best practices, especially in Open Source Projects. Knowledge with project and issue tracking systems
  • Experience working with System Integrators and OEMs from a technical/project perspective
  • PMP or similar project management related certification
