Job Summary

Sealed Air is seeking an experienced MATERIALS MANAGER at their Danbury, Connecticut location. The position supports multiple locations with both a global customer and global supplier base. The role exists in a dynamic environment where activities are often blended with other groups to ensure collaborative workflow.

The position is responsible for managing inventory and planning procedures for finished goods, manufactured goods, raw materials, and supplies. The managed materials are supplied to customers as end-user equipment, used to support manufacturing operations, and used to support end-user equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze physical inventory, initiate inventory discrepancy investigations, and perform general activities necessary to maintain appropriate control
  • Collaborate with management to determine supply needs, and ensure Operations has an adequate flow of materials needed to meet customer/business needs
  • Lead planning activities for various platforms (internally and externally manufactured, raw parts and finished, supplied directly and through distribution, supplied from stock and from others)
  • Work with procurement to initiate purchasing of materials according to planning and specifications
  • Interact with manufacturing, shipping, receiving, and warehousing operations at numerous locations managing inventory levels to ensure availability of material as needed
  • Oversee distribution of material throughout the organization
  • Participate in forecasting future orders
  • Recommend measures to improve processes, performance, quality of service, and changes to increase efficiency
  • Use the SAP ERP system to manage master data and execute the material requirements of the global operation
  • Support relationships with suppliers including processes for consignment, floor stock, and other inventory management programs
  • Review and adjust materials within SAP to Engineering Change Orders
  • Knowledge of all Lean and Full Warehouse transactions within the SAP platform
  • Manage the reporting of key metrics associated with inventory control and service of the business

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Business or related field; or equivalent combination of education, work and certifications
  • 5+ years’ Materials Manager experience
  • Intermediate to advanced skills and experience in SAP Materials Management
  • Experience in shipping and receiving
  • Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems; forecasting; and budgeting
  • Intermediate to advanced skills and experience in MS Office 365
  • Excellent organizational, process development, and leadership skills
  • A team-oriented problem-solver with ability to work across department boundaries in a global environment
