We have an opening for a Project Accountant in our Burnaby office.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and carry out customer invoicing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
- Create and maintain accurate project revenue and expense budgets and schedules, including project setup, change orders, and project closeout.
- Manage monthly financial processes, including income statements, variance reports, accruals, and work-in-progress.
- External email and phone communication with suppliers and client administrators.
- Prepare and modify proposal documents and contracts using Microsoft Office.
- Project coordination and tracking using Microsoft Excel and project management tools.
- Manage physical and digital construction materials inventory and associated financials.
- Process employee timesheets and expense reports.
- General office administration, including photocopying, courier, mail, and filing.
- Coordinate and maintain records for office space, company credit cards, and vehicle use.
- Strong organizational, time management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Proven ability to innovate, adapt, and contribute to evolving processes in a constantly changing environment.
- Advanced computer skills with an ability to learn new applications efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to develop business relationships conducted in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and drive for improvement.
- Education or experience in accounting, business/project/office administration, project management, or estimating.
- Exposure to consulting engineering, utilities, land development, or construction industries.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel formulas, pivot tables, and macros.
- Familiarity with accounting and/or project management principles.
- Class 5 driver’s license.
