Major FunctionThe Executive Director of Sales & Marketing provides strategic leadership and direction for the Sales and
Marketing departments. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, overseeing brand positioning,
enhancing customer acquisition and retention, and managing the development and execution of marketing
campaigns. This position is critical in aligning sales goals with the organization’s strategic objectives,
fostering cross-departmental collaboration, and utilizing data-driven insights to enhance performance and
market share.
Key Performance Indicators for this position include but aren’t limited to the following:
Revenue Growth Rate: This KPI measures the percentage increase in revenue over a specified period
(e.g., quarterly or annually). It reflects the effectiveness of sales strategies and team performance in
meeting or exceeding revenue targets. A high revenue growth rate demonstrates the successful alignment
of sales tactics with market demand and business objectives.
Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) to Lifetime Value (LTV) Ratio: This ratio compares the cost of
acquiring new students/customers to the long-term value they bring to the company. An optimized CAC to
LTV ratio indicates efficient marketing and sales spending, balanced with high customer lifetime value.
Tracking this helps the Executive Director ensure that the acquisition strategy is both cost-effective and
sustainable.
Brand Engagement Rate: This KPI measures engagement levels across marketing channels, such as
website visits, social media interactions, email open rates, and click-through rates. A high engagement rate
signals effective brand messaging and customer interest, which can drive both acquisition and retention
efforts. Monitoring this KPI allows the Executive Director to adjust campaign strategies and ensure
alignment with customer preferences.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop comprehensive sales strategies aligning with organizational
objectives. Lead the sales team to meet or exceed revenue targets through strategic account
management, pipeline development, and effective sales forecasting.
2. Brand and Marketing Strategy: Oversee the creation and implementation of the marketing
strategy to position the brand effectively in the market.
3. Customer Acquisition and Retention: Spearhead initiatives to enhance customer acquisition and
retention rates, utilizing customer insights and market research. Lead the development of
customer-focused programs that strengthen relationships, increase brand loyalty, and foster long-term partnerships.
4. Performance Analytics and Reporting: Implement performance metrics to measure the
effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts. Conduct regular data analysis to refine strategies,
adjust tactics, and present insights to the executive team, ensuring alignment with organizational
goals.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various teams to ensure alignment on sales
and marketing initiatives. Foster a collaborative environment that supports knowledge sharing and
innovation, enhancing overall organizational performance.

Qualifications
Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s preferred. Or
10+ years of equivalent and relevant experience in sales/marketing senior leadership.
Experience
At least 8 years of experience in a senior sales or marketing role with a track record of successful revenue
growth.
