Under the guidance and leadership of the Regional Sales Manager, the Trades Market Sales Supervisor (MSS) position is a true ‘Player Coach.' The MSS will have two primary responsibilities: Manage and grow a select portfolio of accounts aligned to the Trades Strategy and to lead, support, coach and assure a team of Field Sales Professionals (FSP) attain and execute Sales and Gross Profit goals also aligned to the Trades Strategy.”
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
25%- Execute the day to day management of sales and personnel.
15%- Involvement in recruiting top sales talent, training, motivation and development of sales representatives. Involvement in delivering quarterly and annual performance appraisals and appropriate corrective action. Educate and direct the sales group on how to upsell, obtain sales leads, develop sales team capability.
20%- Guide and motivate the group's sales efforts in each territory to ensure that goals and quotas are met or exceeded on a consistent basis.
20%- Coach for sales growth. Work side-by-side making calls, coaching and mentoring with each rep for a minimum of one hour per week. Deliver sales training on-going.
15%- Monitor calls on a weekly basis for each team member. This can be done remotely or side-by-side.
5%- Provide management review and authorization for certain restricted actions such as special pricing.
NATURE AND SCOPE
This position reports to the Sales Manager. This position has 3 direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Additional Environmental Job Requirements:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.
Years of Relevant Work Experience:5 years
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
One to two years management experience in a proactive sales environment (inside sales environment preferred).
Significant product knowledge is preferred.
BS degree in Business, Marketing or related field is highly preferred.
