Assistant Account Executive
The position of an Assistant Account Executive is a client-driven one, with responsibilities focusing mainly on the servicing of client accounts. An Assistant Account Executive will work closely with an account executive in coordinating projects, communicating with vendors, analyzing client needs and creating brand awareness for the client. In addition, an Assistant Account Executive might handle sales leads and coordinate marketing strategies for specific clients.
Assistant Account Executives work mainly in client services departments but may also be employed in or work closely with advertising, marketing and sales departments. They will draw on a background in all these areas as well as project management in order to be successful in this field. An Assistant Account Executive is also referred to as a junior account executive.
Assistant Account Executive duties and responsibilities to fully support an account executive in the daily servicing of client accounts, an Assistant Account Executive must perform a wide variety of tasks to achieve client satisfaction.
Coordinate Client Projects
Helping clients to increase sales and brand recognition is a top priority of Assistant Account Executives. To that end, they will help to oversee project schedules and budgets in areas of marketing, sales and advertising to ensure that clients are getting maximum attention and exposure. They will communicate with clients and relevant vendors as well as internal employees throughout the project development and implementation process.
Arrange Client Meetings
The Assistant Account Executive will typically set up phone or face-to-face meetings with account executives and those working in areas of sales, marketing, promotions and advertising to maintain communications with the client and to review client needs and expectations and discuss account strategies. They will also arrange meetings with clients to learn about client products and services.
Handle Sales Leads
It generally falls to the Assistant Account Executive to follow-up on sales leads and to help generate new sales leads. This is often done in collaboration with sales teams within the Assistant Account Executive’s territory. In this aspect of the job, Assistant Account Executives might attend seminars or trade shows to prospect for new leads.
Assistant Account Executive Skills
An Assistant Account Executive should be a detailed-oriented team player with the ability to motivate team members and provide excellent customer service to diverse clients. They should also have the ability to work independently as needed. Strong decision-making, problem solving, organizational and communication skills are essential for successful Assistant Account Executive candidates to possess the following skills.
