About Us

In 1977, OSI introduced the first generation electronic chart system for the maritime market and revolutionized navigation. Over the years we have had many firsts. Today, OSI Maritime Systems is a leading provider of integrated navigation and tactical solutions designed for naval and maritime security operations. Among those solutions, the company develops and delivers integrated bridge systems for warships, integrated dived navigation systems for submarines, and C2 systems for small craft. Presently, 23 navies totaling more than 600 warships and submarines operate using OSI systems.

Due to the nature of our company, all employees must pass specific security criteria. Only candidates who are Canadian citizens, have PR status or have a citizenship from a NATO country, and who satisfy security clearance criteria, will be considered.

The Job

The Business Development Manager will continue the development of the Canadian & US markets. The incumbent will be responsible for business development, marketing and sales of the Company’s maritime products within Canada & the US, ensuring the Company is optimally positioned to achieve sales targets, to maximize profitable sales and to provide total customer satisfaction. This includes developing a thorough understanding of the markets, market and technological trends, competitors and customers in Canada & US and following up on sales opportunities, building customer and government relationships.


The main responsibilities are:
  • Design and implement strategies to identify sales prospects, sell products and services to major new and existing customers
  • Manage customer relationships and overall responsibility for the maintenance and development of business from existing customers; determine the degree of interest and satisfaction with Company products and services.
  • Achieve defined bookings targets and strive to continuously enhance existing markets
  • Maintain the company CRM to enable accurate forecasting allowing the Executive Leadership Team to have clear visibility of pipeline.
  • Drive and deliver continued profitable sales growth.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Company’s products, pricing, promotion, and sales and marketing strategies.
  • Support market research and analysis; develop and recommend marketing and pricing strategies including product positioning, advertising, and promotion strategies.
  • Consult with customers to analyze and understand their business needs and determine which products and services best fit the requirements.
  • Attend industry forums, tradeshows, and other events as required.
  • Represent the organization in critical external business relationships with customers and partners.

You bring

  • 5+ years’ direct experience with electronic navigation systems; Demonstrated experience in developing strategies for and winning in technology niche markets along with domain expertise in a related field such as Coast Guard or maritime systems;
  • Proven experience in dealing with Canadian Governmental departments including, but not limited to; Canadian Coast Guard, Public Works and Government Services Canada, Export Development Canada, Canadian Commercial Corporation, Western Economic Diversification Canada; Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency; understanding of bridge and navigation systems is essential.
  • 3 years of experience in a customer facing role either selling or sales support.
  • Demonstrated experience doing the following; pricing analysis, market intelligence, identifying sales channels and building strategies
  • Ability to build relationships and lead teams
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
