PINE SALES ACCOUNT MANAGER

J.D. Irving, Limited, the largest volume producer of Eastern White Pine boards in the world, has an immediate Sales Account Manager position available in our Eastern White Pine Board Division. We have 2 mills located in Maine and New Brunswick that combined produce 135 million board feet of lumber annually. The successful candidate will be part of a large team of professionals who strive to exceed customer expectations every day!


Reporting to the Sales Manager, responsibilities include:
  • Being an integral part of a 3-person team, responsible for selling lumber throughout North America and Overseas.
  • Maintaining current accounts and adding a new book of clients, including overseas export
  • Understanding production flow and shipping processes
  • Leading our production planning process, this involves working closely with production facilities to communicate forecasts and customer demands
  • Participate in team meetings to set targets, review progress to targets and take corrective actions as required to achieve plans
  • The ability to travel, domestically and internationally up to 8 weeks annually
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education (Bachelor degree in Business Administration an asset)
  • 2+ years of sales experience (in lumber or another commodity an asset)
  • Knowledge of construction and/or building supplies
  • Prior demonstrated high level organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful)
  • Must have strong commitment to company values and the ability to work in a team and sales driven environment
  • Must possess computer proficiency Word and Excel.
